According to SCCA SoloII classifications

997 is in Super Stock

Mini Cooper S is in D Stock.

According to their relative PAX numbers .860 and .825 the 997 should be a little over 4% faster.

I've had both Porsches and new Minis in the driveway. Right now Porsche is looking pretty silly in this and Mini is really scoring a huge marketing bump from this.

As for Porsche and Mini they both have cars in Continental challenge ST class.

I once passed a Lamborghini Gallardo in a Mazda Protege5 wagon at Summit Point. Point is that a slower car with a faster driver can be faster than a fast car with a slower driver.

By that standard MINI should lose; I have two P-cars and a MINI.

I had a student that passed a Nissan GTR in a Taurus.

It was an SHO and all, but still....

Why don't they just both drop their pants and see who has the bigger junk? It would get the same publicity if not more for both brands.

Has been discussed for a few days as well here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...ot-posing.html

I have one of each as well.
What the hell is going on here? I'm not sure Mini needs to convince Porsche owners that Minis are fun.
