Seriously.....no. That dillhole who did the "poke the stick at the bear" video and his ghay tee shirts wasn't doing this to lose. He got his advertisement but I don't for a second believe they weren't doing everything they could to win. And kudos to Cory for the interviews and demeanor leading up to and after it.

Thanks guys! I don't know what I would have done if I lost. Ha Would never live it down at the track..."Oh yeah, your the guy who got wooped by that little Mini." The trophy they gave is crazy and fits the event perfectly. It is a huge wwf style wresting title belt. Totally nutts.

BTW Did Porsche ever use toyo proxes 4 tires on any of their cars? I'm pretty sure they are all season with a M&S rating....

That is even funnier. What was the mini running? I was just watching one of the videos and it shows the mini rolling out of the trailer on what look like Hoosiers. Please tell me they switched to street tires.

OK, I'll be the first to say it: that flag girl was HOT!!!
Has "baldie" worn the looser t-shirt yet?

They should have entered a Porsche that was similarly priced to race the mini, like an old 996. Would have still beat the mini by 2 seconds and they wouldn't be able to claim a thing.

Hell, a well-prepped 914 would have probably beat the MINI by more than 2 secs on that course!
How bout the Hyundai challenge? They haven't even answered that one as far as I know.
What gets me is that this douche McDowell was all "in-your-face" and cocky about his "challenge", yet he's all silence now.
Guess he's still in shock.

Just realized the mini coming off the trailer is not the one that raced.

Their promo vids promised a number of hot chicks, and something about "sausage of the month club..."

Did they deliver??

Congratulations Cory, you rock!! I'm sorry to say many would have complained at you had you lost - you have gonads for stepping up to the plate!

Where is the helicopter video? Will they post that at some point?

And what's the deal with "$38,000 per second?" Did you win some cash??

Congrats again!

The deal is that the mini is only 2 seconds slower but for that every 1 second the Porsche is 38,000 more expensive then the Mini.

Ha, thats exactly what I said when I saw those tires on the car. In the end it didn't matter I guess but the car would have definately been qicker on the OEM ps2's. ( or on any other tire than the toyos)

Oh, OK, that makes perfect sense now - I should have caught that (duh). Thanks.

Very solid point there by MINI - especially if you never use the car for anything but a short autocross course. Of course, if you lap the course twice, the price difference drops down to, err, less.

What tires were on the Mini? Maybe they were trying to make the tires equal.

The results backed up what was expected considering how both cars's indexed out in SCCA Solo II.
