Possible Glen 2009 Race Format

In general, any racing is better than practice BUT I would like to see the enduro stay... maybe even longer?! 90 minutes is a sprint race to me. With 4 sprint races, feels like the 'lead up' to the main event will be lost.

I don't know.... in most races, the same drivers end up the same place in class race after race. You run with the same cars. Do you really want to do that same thing, time after time, 4 times in a weekend? Sounds kinda boring to me honestly....
In our race, we have 3 sprints and an enduro. One of the sprint races was a "handicap" race, which made for some interesting racing. The fast cars got to pass a lot just to get to the front, not just work on lapping the field... At least it made it interesting....

I agree, Bob..usually you are racing against the same folks...but sometimes racers improve during the weekend..and four awesome starts..hard to beat.
I think we need to try new things to try an improve on a great Club Race format..

Enduros are simply different. There is something to be said for driving for 1 1/2hours . But it would be interesting to correlate winning vs preference. E.g., for the guys that win, they may be more inclined to favor the four sprint race format. For the guys that don't win, the four race format may not be as enticing (it's just four losses), and therefore, those guys may be more interested in running an enduro simply for running 1 1/2 hours at speed and mixing it up with different cars having much different speed differentials.

I'd like to try 4 sprints for a change of pace. Also like the idea of the handicap race for one of the 4.
In a 90 minute enduro, depending on pit schedule, you can loose sight of your competitors at a track like the Glen and just end up doing solo laps for good portion. In the sprints, they're always right there.
