You're still turning in too early.
At apex it was obvious you were going to run out of track. (Actually, it was obvious before the apex). So why did you stay on the gas?

doesn't look early to me. where his left front crosses the concrete is fine, but that was one lazy turn in and that's a corner that is perfect for trailbraking in our cars (which it doesn't appear he did).

I drive a 951, so maybe my line is slighly different.
I still think it's a tad early, but that's not the bigger problem. Just after apex, it's pretty clear he's heading outward. He's crossing the patches instead of staying on them. It doesn't sound like there's any throttle response, he just stays on the gas.
DMD: When you started going outward, across the patches, where did you think you were going to end up???

All I know is that I learned from my previous landscaping excursion.....
and that is to ride it out without trying to correct in the grass.....

You look to be 1/2 a car earlier than Gary, but if you did not trail hard to the apex, your going to run out of track. Good thing you picked T8 as there are not many places at the Glen to get away with an off like that.

I call it beginners luck (about picking the safest turn)......you are completely right.....especially about not trailbreaking hard.....

Geography isn't the issue. It's geometry.
1) In the first part of a turn (before the apex), if you're inside the correct line, then in the 2nd part of the turn (after the apex) you'll be outside of the correct line.
2) In *most* cases, the patches are the correct line and you should be parellel to the patches. If you start inside of the patches, and then start heading outward (relative to the patches), then at the end of the turn, you'll be outside of the patches. Since most patches end at the outside edge of the track at trackout, being outside of the patches will probably put you into the grass.
Just two generic rules.
