Watching Practice 2 Streaming live in MK328 (and my prof is probably wondering why I'm paying no attention ), ahh the miracle of modern technology...

The track certainly does look pretty spectacular all lit up, but I still doubt there will be any passing.

Track lay-out looks like it will be Valencia repeat though. Friggin' Tilke.

Not exactly a high speed circuit. I predict another win for Lewis with second going to Kimi or Massa (depending on who can qualify better).
Wayne are you throwing any predictions out?

Alonso P1, thats pretty impressive in the dumptruck Renault tries to pass of as a F1 car.
Random thoughts...
These Tilke courses always remind me of an autocross, they have no flow at all.
There are alot of chicanes to cut, including the whole first complex (think lap 1).
Although the layout is spectacular, it gets old after around lap 5 when there's no passing.
Anyone else notice the little 4 paddle TC system Mclaren has going on when they showed the camera looking back at Hamilton?
The Ferrari's certainly aren't short on power, but have initial understeer and a nasty case of snap oversteer.
Those Mclarens sure do handle, when they show a static shot of a corner from behind watch how nicely the front bites and the tail follows.

I think there will be plenty of passing (or at least a lot more than Valencia) and a lot of sliding into walls / crazy catches and saves. The compilation of "oopses" at the end seemed quite indicative of that.

Practice on a new track (or any track) is always that way, then the actual race usually turns out to be a huge dissappiontment. I think it has to do with the track getting fully rubbered in, I'm hoping your correct though. I remember the practices at the first few races without TC (and before the current variable dif. systems which might as well be) were pretty spectacular with all sorts of on throttle slides.

Fine, don't watch it, mister negativity. Seriously you always have to find some reason to complain and it's getting old. Go whine about Hamilton and street circuits while you sit in the corner and cry somewhere else, k?
I for one intend to enjoy the heck out of this even if it's not as good a racetrack as somewhere like Spa, it's unique, and I'm excited by the prospect of night racing - if only so I don't have to watch tape-delayed crap the next morning, or stay up til ungodly hours...
Either way it's going to look visually spectacular and I think the "unknown" element of it being evening / dark (even with good lighting you know that changes stuff) will make for some more interesting stuff than your "average" street circuit event.
Who knows maybe I'm dead wrong and it'll be a f**king parade, but I doubt that ...
Yeah, thanks for the feed (even if you got all emo on us after). Definitely killed my morning LOL

I'm with MTosi. I am just not a fan of these street circuits, that are turning F1 into Formula CART IMHO.
Valencia was a huge "fail" IMHO. I hope this circuit doesn't follow the same fate.

Alonso quickest in second practice
By Matt Beer Friday, September 26th 2008, 15:06 GMT
Fernando Alonso sprung a surprise in second practice for the Singapore Grand Prix, beating Lewis Hamilton to the fastest time in the closing seconds of the session.
The Renault driver outpaced the McLaren by 0.098 seconds, with Ferrari's Felipe Massa and McLaren's Heikki Kovalainen third and fourth, and Nico Rosberg impressing again for Williams in fifth.
Hamilton was quickest for the majority of the session, swiftly moving ahead of early pacesetter Rosberg and then chipping away at his time for the next hour and steadily edging further ahead.
