We'll try to get you to :08s on street tires. I think we can take that access road from the front straight to T3....and then go from T5 straight to T8.

Besides, I was going much closer to 20 in that shot.

I just got back from a VIR three day weekend with NASA. What a great group and a great track. I'm also going to Summit with Potomac on the 11/12 weekend. Most of the Black/red group guys in Potomac are Instructors. They, as a whole, are a fast region. Especially at their home track, Summit. I can't wait to get there.

Just got home a little while ago. Day 1 was great, track was a little moist 1st run but quickly dried out. I spent that run just learning where the corners were again and checking out the new pavement. While it's an improvement over two years ago it's still crap. I don't know who paved it or what happened, but it's disintegrating and is already patched all over the place, including some sort of mess entering T3 that feels like a speed bump in the middle of the track. By the end of the day I was feeling comfortable but still unsure of the fast line and planned on trying to find a local to ride with me today. Unfortunately I kept blowing my brake light fuse during the day and today it was so bad it blew the second I turned the car on so I was done.

The speed bump in T3 was spilled paint. Rather than cleaning it up or pressure washing it off was coated with bucket type driveway sealer. Picture the two early 1900s guys that sell Guennes going "Brillant!"
The messed up areas in T1 and T5 are from paving over the concrete with the good stuff, having it delaminate over the winter and get replaces with regular street grade stuff. The street grade stuff is not up to the task for sure.

Didn't seem to notice the issues in 1 and 5 that everyone mentioned. Saw the giant chuckhole in 10 if your were doing a late pass. Rode right seat with a real instructor and saw the really bad drop off in 9. The water that would form the puddle in 9 now just eats away at the dirt on the outside. It's gonna grab a wheel and really tear someone up.

What's sad is that we were told by BSR himself last november at a track day that the dirt drop-offs and transitions would be compacted, leveled, proofrolled, and seeded. He acknowledged that the transition off pavement was unsafe and would be addressed over the winter... It isn't like our winter was especially bad this year.
