Summit on 4/12-13 with Potomac - Hooz goin?
I'm all approved and booked at the Hampton (Rte 81+7), just wondering who else will be there. Looks like they won't accept CVR's "letters of endorsement" into Black so as it stands i'll be in the White run group according to their web site. I'll make the best of it either way, maybe even get a couple of you Summit masters to right seat with me? I intend on racing there (maybe with NASA too) so any help I can get would be appreciated...

White group huh? That reminds me of a certain region that still has me in Yellow sign-off even though I've been a PCA Nat. Certified Instructor for 2 years. Go figure.

White was pretty quick last weekend at VIR, so maybe it won't hold you up to much. I expect to be there, but they haven't updated my profile to white yet. I was signed off on the first day of the event last weekend and much enjoyed white over blue.

Look forward to meeting you Mike. I'm not worried either way, I really need to concentrate on line the 1st day, and maybe on how the track feels off-line the 2nd.. i'll have fun regardless of the group.

For some reason, Potomac black is overcrowded this year. Not good for anyone in white who wants to move up. The other problem is that the Potomac region is huge and this is the home track and the first Potomac event. It's going to be tough for anyone from out of the region. There are some chapter members in the same boat.. Lots of folks wait listed. Potomac is always full because they get weekend dates and as a large chapter they have to juggle a lot of requests. It's also the only club I've run with so far that is Porsche only. Other chapters may be also but that is an indication of the sheer number of members they are juggling.
It's probably the same story at other "home" tracks for other regions.
The put on a very good, very well run event and they will try to accommodate everyone.

If you are well faster than the group and there is room in the overstuffed Black you might get moved up. Potomac's groups are fast and the CI is good about moving people areound as needed to keep the flow up. As with any group there are some folks that have "limp left arm syndrome" from time to time and don't give passes as they should. Potomac tends to get on the non pass givers regardless of who they are. Potomac has a good instructor to driver % and Instructors get first call for obvious reasons. Black and Red are instructor playgrounds but nether is instructor only as is with some other groups.
See you there.

I'm in....be nice to us white guys! You'll like the new pavement. I ran on it last year and it is smooth. I hope they have fixed some of the edges though. At the end of last year you dare not cut an apex or track out wide as the dropoffs in some areas were over six inches deep! I'm sure it's been taken care of by now.
