I have pulled on these exact 944s the same way the white car did several times with my 996 GT3. It was no big deal
Now that IS funny!

No car in the same class ever just "walks" away from me in NASA unless I muff-up a corner or they get a much better run out of it. But in PCA what happened in the video is fairly common and that is frustrating.

Rebuilt to stock, no tricks
Rebuilt to stock, using all the tricks (in a 964, this means bring up to compression to spec)
Rebuilt to something other than stock.
Let's see some hard data: To give you an example of a motor that lies between #2 and #3: Most 944S2 F class racers are over 200 hp at the wheels. I've seen as high as 212 down to 204. That's pretty darn good for a motor that's meant to make 208 at the flywheel. That's a flywheel gain of about 37 hp. There's no exhaust/intake combo that can give you those kind of gains. Those motors are all rebuilt to 'spec' and all have good drivers on top of it and run at the front of the pack.

The only way I know this is because I tried to buy two of these 'front runners' and got the specs and, of course, some of them race in NASA where you have to be in a certain mass/hp ratio.

212 HP at the wheels ??

Geeze, I'm making 196 and thought it was pretty good.

Please PM me and tell me what you found out about how these engines got to that stage if you could.
Thanks.

I'll add my own turbo clip

Personally, I think the main advantage of the Porsche turbos is the sheer amount of tire you can stuff into the wells. Stuff a n/a car with lots of tire and the increased rotational weight degrades the power. In a turbo the penalty is minimal at best

For sure. It is a fact that Turbo drivers are better.

Effective as of January 2007 that is.

That's when I swopped my N/A car for a Turbo car!
