Slotted Rotors for 993TT Front Brakes
I have had a few folk ask me about ny new non-floating slotted rotors for my '96 993TT. I emailed my shop to get the contact info and I was informed that the guy that makes these rotors is not in the retail business.
Feel free to contact Bill Dougherty @ Dougherty Automotive in West Chester, PA. I spoke with Bill this morning and I informed him there might be a few folks contact him about these rotors.

After 2 events with the new rotors I'm happy with them. I will report back after the weather gets warmer and I get 3-4 events @ the Glen.

The rotors mentioned here are 332x32. The info I have says that Alcon makes them in this size and AP does not, but thats somewhat conflicting.

I was PMing Tony about the rotors. What would be nice is to find a slotted direct replacement for the stock 993TT rotors without having to change hats (to save money).
Also, what would really be nice is to be able to change the rotor without taking the hub off. Seems like they could machine the hat with the correct offset to do that, but I haven't looked close enough.

The 332x32 rotors Tony is talking about are from AP and it is a kit Charlie Wrightwood puts together. He has AP Racing build the rotors to his specs based on the aluminum hat he has designed. I have them and they last much longer than the factory rotors. I believe most of VCI brake rotors are Coleman rotors which I have found to be not as good as the factory rotors in terms of longevity.

Charlie Spira@ Wrightwood Racing makes an excellent product and we've used these for 10+ years on most of the race/track cars we have here and we sell a lot of them to people doing DE's.
Although (initially) not cheap to do, these really pay long-term dividends in rotor life.
I think VCI & TRG both use Coleman's on their kits and these are not even close to the quality and durability of real racing rotors from AP, Alcon and Brembo.

Steve, what is the advantage of floating over non-floating rotors? Are there any problems with pad knock back?

Hi Larry:
Floating rotors are not bolted firmly to the hats and are therefore free to expand uniformly on both sides. This really reduces any opportunity for warping as well as reduces knock-back. Non-floating rotors expand differentially side-to-side and can look like a Belleville Washer when really hot.
The only "disadvantage" to floating rotors are initial cost, some noise at low speed as they move around on their drive dogs, and the need to take everything apart once a year to remove brake dust buildups so that they continue to float,...

Former Vendor
I was asked by a customer to post that they are ready to ship -
Slotted? Yes.
Plenty of edge margin and slots NOT going through the edge of the disc? Check.
Better than others regarding parts availability? Yep.
Full floaters with no clattering? Yes.
IN STOCK and ready.
