Spanish sponsor Mutua Madrilena leaves Mclaren
Spanish sponsor Mutua Madrilena will reunite with Fernando Alonso at Renault in 2008, according to reports on Sunday.
In the footsteps of the 26-year-old double World Champion, the Madrid-based insurance company recently negotiated an end to its multi-season McLaren contract, but in a statement last week insisted that its decision to leave the team was not linked with Alonso's exit.
Mutua Madrilena had entered Formula One with Renault in early 2005, and opted to move with the Spaniard to McLaren at the end of last year.
Reports in Spain now indicate that the company has signed a new contract to be represented on the livery of the 2008-specification Renault R28.
Spain is represented twice on the 2008 F1 calendar; the usual Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, and for the first time in the eastern port city Valencia, where the European Grand Prix will be held in late August.
Mutua Madrilena's sponsorship value was earlier this year estimated at $5m per season, and in 2007 included branding on the MP4-22's front wing endplates, drivers' sleeves and helmets.

LOL, yes larry , the beginning of more fallout for mclaren going into 08.
Everyone awaits the new renault as this will give us an idea of next season, will it be all ferrari or will there be competition, from BMW, Renault an Mclaren..

I think BMW will definately bring some competition to the table next season. As for Mac, that is doubtful. Renault is doubtful as well.
Looks to be a good year for Kimi and company. That should make the Finn very happy!
