And vice versa. I pick up things working with advanced students all the time.

Maybe several of us who are interested, could meet at MSR one member day and share some tips, rides, chalk talk etc. I would love to get some guidence, in any form, whether it be me taking someone along to critique my driving, or going for rides or whatever. Having an instructor ride along during DEs is great, but sometimes it is pretty rushed and crowded. I have had the opportunity to ride with George, and it has always been a real eye opener.

Was this due to his driving style, or the amount of hair on his back?

It didn't until I put the PSS9's on Still hadn't figured out the secret to getting it to handle. Having said that, I haven't upgraded to bigger bars, but yeah in general mine is somewhat similar. David's seemed a bit excessive (just by the look of the steering imput required), but the tires didn't seem to squeek as bad as I would have expected.
Whether it handled or not, he seems to be firmly "all over it". A little more practice and some suspension tuning and he'll be good.

George's driving has always impressed me. Fortunately, I haven't seen his back.

My car was indeed understeering in the video, but I believe that was due in large part to the completley shot, and reverse mounted MPSC front tires. Prior to that day on better tires, the car has handled pretty well. Buckley installed and set up my JIC suspension, and larger TRG bars. With that combination, the stock understeer normal in the C4S was to some degree dialed out. However, George's talk about 1700 lbs. springs makes me wonder if my 475lbs rate is a bit soft.

Come on Dave, why you got to be like that? You know I'm shorn, there really is nothing quite like it, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.

Jay, yes it is true, I snore. Everyone knows it, yet everyone wants to be my roommate. Kind of creapy............

David, I wouldn't worry too much about spring rates, just learn to adjust to what you have. I had great success with my previous setup of 650/800's. Way to many variable in 993 to pinpoint it to spring rates.

Chris, I've heard very few success stories with the PSS9's. But then again, I helped a friend install them on his 996TT and he loves them, plus he's pretty damn fast. I bet it all boils down to setup. I've found that rake plays a major part in the 993 handling characteristics. Maybe that's one of the things you should check. I think I'm at zero rake right now but my setup is completely different.

I had planned to go out today on new MPSCs and try some of the suggestions posted here, but found out the new tires didn't arrive at PST, so I'll have to wait a bit more. RATS, cause I was getting pretty psyched about it.

Alwright, I guess the cat's out of the bad. Attached is a picture of me, I'm the the one in the background. With the weather being so nice, I wish I was at the track. Too bad I've got a soccer game in an hour then I have to get packed for my trip to Phoenix.
