Default Who's the Best PCA Club Racer

Though I'll never live up to the standard set by ColorChange, I thought I'd see if I could start a thread with some action. So, who do you consider the best driver in PCA club racing?

The "best" would be the driver that:
sets a good example of sportsmanship
plays by the rules as PCA was intended
races often with a record of exceptional driving skills
spends time to help new racers and DE instructor

From the people I know that award would go to Manny Alban

Great post, Manny rocks! He always takes time to answer any of my questions, helped me a ton at VIR, and wins most of his races, not to mention the time he spends to help PCA as our Zone 2 rep.

Not to mention that Manny started the club racing mentor program.

McKenzie is terrific.

Another one out of the same shop, Midwest Eurosport, who may not be the best, but ranks as one of the coolest.

Has a fast car. Drives it well, does something like 10 race weekends a year, is fearless, others get out of his way when he shows up in their mirrors (he's maybe too fearless), is always laughing, or at least smiling, and has a great twinkle in his eye.

His name is John Bonnett. Oh yeah, he is 75 years old.

John B....Now there is a man without a care in the world and races as such! I agree and if you didn't know any better you would think John has a death wish in racing.

I forgot about him. So make it a duet!

Here's a picture of John, he's on the right. (He shares that car with the Glenn Sapa, on the left)

And here's the aforementioned Tim McK - gotta love the accessories

All the guys are good racers at Midwest Eurosport and feel some of the credit needs to go out to George, Bryan and the fantastic crew they have!

Gregg Lewis potential "Chaos Theory Manipulator"

Second place tie between Jerry Wilson OVR and the guy who drove the Black& green 993 at PBOC last Jan at Sebring,Stiener fuel rails ? Fastest car I have ever seen at a clud event, the Schardts would de up there also.

Manny is a good choice. Another driver who should be considered is Gregg Wilson. He drives his F class Euro SC to the track, throws on his track tires, kicks but, and drives his racecar home. I've been lucky enough to race with him. He races clean, is a gentleman and all around nice guy. Definately could be the poster child of a gentleman racer and king of the "race what you drove to the track" club.

I agree with Mark about both Manny and Gregg. Before I started racing, Gregg was one of my idols. Always fast, always helpful and a geniune nice guy. He's been racing with PCA for 10 years now, one of the original racers. Now that I'm the one carrying Gregg's track tires to the track for him I haven't changed my opinion. One of my high points of my short racing adventure is beating him at Summit Point a couple of years ago (and kicking his butt in our karting series ...). He's always been my benchmark for smoothness and consistency. At a club race you can never find him sittting around my trailer, somebody's always coming around and asking for a "quick question" and the next thing you know, he's gone and under somebodys' car or wrenching on their engine. There's an amazing amount of Porsche knowledge under that hat and he's always willing to share it.

Almost? Well if you need a little help I can always lend you my "ticket" to winning. Just place my girls...see avatar...... in the drivers view at corner #"1".

If you can't beat them with brawn. Beat'em with beauty!
