Yuki also wants that RB seat. I actually think he's probably quicker than people give him credit for (Yuki). I dont think that Gasly crushed him, and he comprehensively mopped the floor of Nyck DeVries who has won in everything that he's ever driven. Now he's shown very well in this first race against his teammate. I'd have been pissed too if I was asked to let Danny pass.

Point is - I think that everyone has the expectation that Perez underperforms like last year. He had a really strong race, but same as last year and lets see if it lasts. With all the seat swapping, there is a lot of demand for someone who's shown as super quick - so no way Lawson isnt speaking with other teams as well as RB saying he wants to be in a seat this year. So, for RB, its about whether Dan is the man and crushes Yuki, and then moves back up to the RB, OR whether Yuki writes Dan off and maybe they (RB2) stick with the young guns and get Lawson in the seat now to get him ready for the RB next year.
Agree 100%

Wolff blames Hamilton: 'I'm in a rush because of Lewis'

Toto Wolff has expressed disappointment in Mercedes' results over the past several years, despite the team appearing unfazed by this until the recent announcement of Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari in 2025. Wolff believes that this news has created unnecessary urgency within the team.

“I'm in no hurry to decide on drivers. I've been rushed in a hurry by Lewis. So I'll just stand around and kind of take it easy and evaluate the market.”

Sorry, but Jos appears to be bahving like a bad sports dad. I don't get it. Red Bull dominated on Sunday. If they do again a Jeddah, that won't bode well for the other teams since none of them ever caught up last year. Does Jos think he should be in charge. Is he mad at Horner for some reason? They've won back to back championships. Good grief.

I firmly believe that Jos’ play here all along is to try, with Marko’s help to become team principal.

I agree. That would be the crazy move and thus completely fitting for Jos to do.

I will say I don’t think Marko is going to go along with it. Marko is the one that hired Horner. If he wanted Horner gone he would be gone already IMHO.

So that would put Marko on Team Jos. Ugh. Sad that 6 WDCs since 2010, however many constructors titles, and the creating of a farm system that has produced two World Champions along with other drivers on the F1 grid. Horner had a hand in all that, plus the assembling the management and design team to go along with it.

If RB fires Horner I bet Lawrence Stroll signs him within 24 hours. Plus I wonder how many people within the team will go with him.

I've read that Newey and other top RB staff have exit clauses in their contracts if Horner is let go for any reason.

As time goes on, I'm sure all (or most) will be revealed...

This site generally puts up serious tea...

Wow. Lawrence could score them all! That would be something!

Jos and Marko should remember the line from Bull Durham, "never F with a streak."

The only reason Horner is still in His seat is because of the Thai majority interest. There is no way I would put Jos in charge of a little league team let alone the best run F1 team.

I’ve read that If Horner is gone then it might lead to Newey leaving. Again, going back to Neweys extended podcast in Nov. he said that he had always thought about what it would be like working with Alonso or Lewis. He’s also been courted by Ferrari multiple times but it was never the right timing. He didn’t rule out going to Ferrari before he hangs up his drawing board.

I could see Newey wanting to design the Red cars for a spell before retiring to his country house. I imagine the lure of the Prancing Horse is strong for those in that world.

Good.

🚨 Breaking News: Jos Verstappen, the father of Max Verstappen, will not be present at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix following comments he made about Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, who has been facing criticism.
