Hopefully we’ll have plenty to talk about after quali and the race with much smaller gaps between competitors. In the meantime however, the power struggle at the #1 team continues. Undoubtedly, if this were happening at HAAS, it wouldn’t garner so much attention.

🚨 The latest news that F1-Insider.com learned: The lawyer for the Thai majority shareholders of Red Bull Racing and Christian Horner is said to have officially terminated the employee who initiated the alleged sexual assault case on Monday.

She now wants to take legal action against the expulsion in an English labor court and is expected to have the support of the Austrian faction around Didi Mateschitz heir Mark Mateschitz and CEO Oliver Mintzlaff.

Of course they fired her. Horner hired her and has every right to fire her.

No matter what she was going to file a lawsuit. That is why Horner demanded the independent investigation. That investigation will be used as a bargaining chip to lower the inevitable settlement.

Yep as I stated before. People with money and power think they can get away with whatever they want The “independent” investigation I am sure were never swayed by those paying the bill and I am confident it wasn’t the victim. Well now with the lawsuit at least there will be some transparency like should have been done all along rather then trying to keep the whole thing quiet and pay people off. Not going to look good for RL favorite man. My guess is Horner won’t even have his job by the last race of the season. We shall see but to think all this drama over someone who did nothing wrong and is clear of all wrong doing. He got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Deal with the consequences.

The settlement just grew exponentially after the firing. She seems to potentially have a valid claim that two males high up within the organisation, (directly or indirectly), either had a previous relationship or was attempting to establish one, and she appears to be collateral damage, costing her her job.

Caveat: not an attorney; don’t stay at Holiday Inn express; and I don’t know the facts. But isn’t ’perception’ the dreaded enemy of ‘the truth’?

Once Horner was cleared in the independent investigation she was always going to be fired. There’s no way she can stay at Red Bull after making accusations like that. No one would want to work with her.

As for suing and getting a settlement. That was also always going to happen. This is where these things always go. But with losing the investigation any settlement is it is going to be decreased because of the outcome.

I doubt it. It hasn’t been this calm at the Scuderia for years, thanks to Fred.

Agreed! I didn't watch FP1 yet but just finished FP2 and there were some seriously close calls out there with drivers going full-out coming up on drivers going REALLY SLOW

Maybe they should start using point-bys......
