Ridiculous set of reasons. Half the teams were non competitive last year, with $hitty sponsors, and not bringing additional value to the F1. GM adds real value. Andretti has proven winning experience in non F1 racing. Would be a real US Team.
This is just the teams protecting their annual income and increasing their valuation. Not actually what's best for the sport and the fans

Hamilton to Ferrari? I did not see this coming. Very strange to me.

For sure did not see this coming.
All I can say is that a number of multi-time former WDC's (Alonso and Vettel, for example) think they can pull a Schumacher and go in and "fix" Ferrari through their sheer force of will. We all know how that has worked out...
This popped up, too:
Note the car number...

3-2-1, the Italians are going crazy, and spinning it into a yarn of a decade and a half long unconsummated relationship, finally ready to do the dirty deed... God, I love 'em...

Hamilton switching to Ferrari in 2025 will create a really interesting dynamic in the Mercedes garage this year... I can already hear Hamilton whining about not getting the latest parts and the preferential treatment of George...

Why would Hamilton do it? Can't lose. Merc lacks promise, my man Georgie is a legit impediment to WDC even if they do turn things around.
For HAM to win his 8th with Ferrari would be all-time stuff. If it doesn't happen, what can you do... Ferrari.
Why would Ferrari want Hamilton? Marketing combination off the charts, Merc is too bland for HAM.

Awesome move by Lewis... and not only because it proves that I'm rennlist's F1 seer.

As a life long Ferrari fan, this is nothing but an advertising, marketing and money grab that will do absolutely NOTHING for the racing side of things. And if you don't believe me, just since this has been announced this morning, shares of Ferrari on the exchange have increased 6.5%, an increase of $4 billion dollars. The biggest impact will be with ad revenue, merchandise etc. and wouldn't be surprised with Hamilton has a back end deal for a percentage of merch sales.
Agree with Coach/Peter, everyone thinks they can be Schumacher and bring Ferrari to glory again, but it's not that simple.
