wow if that's a real number then I hate to say but the market has moved up again - if I remember correctly that car had a few thousand miles on it - it wasn't a 300 mile car.
Looks like 5673 miles on odo. Was anyone at the auction? Real end user bidders?
Years ago, some auctions had chandeliers bidding. I hope that practice has stopped.
Where are all those CGT's in the $500K range as a few on this board claim? I want one or maybe two. The reality is that they don't exist otherwise same posters would have had bought them already.
Yeah, honestly, I'd snap them up in a heartbeat if they were floating around. (If anything, because I'm nuts, and also to keep them on this continent.)

This car has not set any market price at all. It's just been trading between dealers at higher prices each time, as far as I can tell.
In December 2014, Top Gear Imports passed it to Marshall Goldman for ~$650k. In February 2015, Marshall passed it along to Dream Makers for ~$765k, they listed it at $896k in March, then upped it to $950k in May. Now, as of today (June 2015), it's been passed to CNC for an unknown price, and they've listed it at $1.3m.
This isn't how markets are made. But, then again, with such scarce supply, there's no such thing as a true market.

Indeed. Indeed. I think it's a classic textbook example.
The info on the advert is incorrect: there's a blue one here that recently sold.
To be honest, 95% of listings that make claims like that are incorrect. They never do their full homework, but they really don't need to. 95% of buyers are ill informed and disconnected; they'll believe the hype / misinformation.

this same floating dealer to dealer is going on often in 3.6 turbos , 993 cars, and speedster as well

Having been to many auctions including BJ, Mecums, RM, Gooding, Russo & Steele as a spectator and buyer I can tell you most of the bidders in these auctions are dealers. I bought the 912 that was at gooding this year in Scottsdale. My winning bid was $75k. add 10% buyers fee, 6% sales tax collected upfront for florida, $500 tag and title collected upfront, another $2,000 for transport and the total was close to $90k. A dealer would not have to pay sales tax or tag fees.

mark starr knows his stuff - if its a mistake its an honest one - I know a blue was mentioned but I have no idea if it was the same exact color code. u wld know better than me

Another midnight blue metallic was for sale in England. This one is probably the only US midnight blue metallic.

I remember seeing a midnight blue CGT in the showroom at porsche of greenwich , ct years ago before it was delivered to the owner who ordered it. was a beautiful color on that car. I think years ago when I was looking for a cat (ended up with silver) I had tried hunting it down and it had already left the country at the time.. this was maybe 5-6 years ago
