CGT Prices

Pitch IS perfect. Volume a little light. Sorry to put another quarter in the machine before the count-down ended. I’ve had owners come up and ask me why mine is a little louder than theirs; assuming it was stock (they have the gmg bypass now). I would agree that tinkering with the CGT exhaust note is probably the most controversial exhaust mod known to man. And, I’ve disliked most any tinkering I’ve heard. So, I understand you opinion and skepticism. I’d have the same.

Funny, I don't find it scary at all at any time other than ice cold tires and if I stupidly hammer the throttle...I guess the race cars have trained me well for a car like this. It handles the way you'd expect a race car to handle...rewards proper inputs...dissuades stupidity.

Simply curious.

I've never heard a video accurately portray the sound of an exhaust system, but by all means post something up. I ran my car with AWE straight pipes for the better part of a year. It was a lot of fun but gets exhausting. It's like a shout out to every police car within a 5 mile radius to come and pull you over. In my opinion the stock exhaust note is perfection. Yes it's a tad light but when the top is off and you drive by anything that reflects sound, it's a treat that you just appreciate even more. It's just a guess but the CGT was built before car manufacturers were piping noise into the cabins. Some things are better left untouched. my .02

Another vote for gmg bypass: keeps the note stock sounding but loud enough to hear in the cabin. And I'm more of an oem-exhaust kind of guy. Most everything i have is oem exhaust. And omg, have you ever seen how large/heavy a CGT exhaust is??!!! Shipping it involved a crate.

Personally, I like the stealth nature of driving a stock CGT at low speeds with very little exhaust noise. Less exhaust sound allows more ability to hear all the other mechanical noises: induction, valvetrain, engine, gearbox, clutch assembly, etc. And, if you want more exhaust, drop it down a gear or two!

1) Is to go catless.
2) Open the muffler (sounds worse than it is) and change the muffler fibre for one less dense.
Number 1 will increase power (needs a tune to remove the cel and to make everything work fine), will sound the best, but only an option for people that know they can pass emissions regardless.
Number 2 sounds very hard, intrusive destructive even, but it realy isn't. Just make sure it's a clean cut and the welder is good.
