The rear inner wheel tubs on the 01 and older cars need to be modified to accept the 680 size tire. 680 is the same size diameter as the previous Michelin. If the Michelin fit than the Pirelli should be ok.

The issue is with the c4 size. There is no way the 275/315 is going on a stock c4 car. They should use the same size as c3. Another small thing is the same size is listed for the front of c4 and c5 but have different prices for the same tire.

And how about GTC6 for the new 991's? What size?

Well I have about a 1/4" clearance at the point where bumper and fender meet. This is at the sidwall of the tire and the new sidewalls of the 305s are WAY wider than the 270 Michelins. So figure will need to grind down the carbon bumper to make clearance. Buying one tire today just to check clearance...

The optional tire Porsche recommends is the 305 Pirelli (albeit the shorter 660) for the 996 Cup. Not a stretch to get it to work. Just a little love and attention needed on the bumper.

Has anyone noticed the pca cup car tires are $30 to $40 more each than the same size pirelli? How does that make sense. On the jx2 webpage the 2 tires are side by side and the PCA tires are more?? WTH??

Yep. I noted this earlier in this thread. Guess I didn't add enough outrage to my post. I think it's absurd and ridiculous. AFAIK, these "deals" with Jackson (nee jx2) have certainly NOT benefitted the racer!

Got this from PCA yesterday.

You received an email blast Thursday that had a couple of errors. The price for the Pirelli 275/645-18 DH Slick front should be $510.00 NOT $540.00 as listed.

The sizes for GTC-4 may be in error. We will have confirmation on the correct sizes very soon.

Best Regards

Bryan,
That is great news. Everyone here is just anxious to get ahead of the learning curve. I was just trying to get a set so i could see if these will even fit on my stock 08 cup car.
Thanks

Has anyone found out why the spec size on front gtc4 and gtc5 are the same, yet gtc5 is higher cost? The size on the front gtc5 should be slightly wider anyway but this doesn't make any sense. I also received pricing directly from them 7 days earlier that was 15% cheaper than what was posted to all racers. Not sure what to trust anymore.

Guys I have read the posts here and they are all very helpful but confusing. I cannot imagine the Pirelli sizes recommended for the GTC4 class will fit either front or back. The front sounds like it will be at least 20mm wider as well as the rears. I cerainly don't have the clearance without gong to a 4X4 suspension or custom wheels. Has anybody actually mounted those tires on a GTC4 Cup. I'm all for as much rubber as possible but this may have exceeded the limit.

BTW, you all may know this already but magically the price for the Pirellis went up for 2014 to be about equal to the outgoing N1 Mich. Funny how that works. $510 for fronts $545 for rears. Show two options for 305 and 315 for rear. Would love to hear if someone was able to stuff a 315 in there.

smf, I'm with you on taking all N1s available. Don't see a discount however given that the N2s are $2600
