Got my letter from Porsche today for my 2018 Turbo ST. It says not to use the AUTO-REST function until I get the recall done. It also recommends parking the car outside a garage or structure until the recall is done "out of an abundance of caution". Wow.

MyPorsche website also says parts are not yet available for the recall:

I'd continue to park your car in the garage just don't leave it running, especially with the door closed.

There is a fire hazard with the cooling pump. Just had my car in for the covered repair. Takes about a day.

No one else has parts. Surprise that your dealer has part for this recall.

Called my local dealership and they have no part in stock and said that I would receive another letter from Porsche once the parts are available. Seems a bit odd to me.

This appears to be common with NHTSA. I have had 2 recalls on my 2021 Ford pickup that parts have not been available on for over a year. They keep sending me letters saying "there's still a recall, but we don't have parts yet."

timely thread. just got my letter today and (I have ‘20 GTS) literally saw this headline. I was just at my dealership 10 days ago to have some warranty work done as well as 30k service. When I was checking in I remember my service advisor going thru his checklist for any ‘recalls’ and he didn’t mention this. Interesting that he didn’t mention it though..kinda perturbs me a bit. I’m based in SF bay area. Guess it’s a parts issue.

From my dealer,
We do not have parts released from Germany to perform the recall on the Panamera yet, and no ETA on when we will receive these parts.

The recall was probably not in Porsche's system tied to your VIN yet. I checked w/ my dealer about a week before I got the letter and was told there were no recalls under my VIN showing in the Porsche system.

I encountered the same issue. I was at the dealership not more than a few weeks before receiving the letter. My VIN wasn’t in the Porsche system that the service advisor uses, didn’t list on the Porsche recall website, nor the NHTSA website. Once I received the letter, my VIN miraculously now displayed all the recall information on both sites. As @Nickshu stated, the information probably wasn’t updated yet in the systems until the letter was generated.

The good news is that it’ll all get sorted when the pumps arrive and the dealers can make the repairs.
