my 2019 panamera 4s is stage 2 tuned, do i have to state that to my dealership to prevent them from somehow resetting my tune?

It’s a aux coolant pump and possible harness replacement. Should not require any re-flashing of the ECU.

Could the Panamera fire hazard be eliminated by temporarily unplugging the coolant pump harness?

Not sure if it will trip any warning light thoguh. In my opinion, unless somebody run their 971 through deep water, the risk of fire is low when the car is not running and the “Auto Rest” is set to OFF. There is no residual 12V running through that circuit, therefore no risk of shorting the circuit.

The recall notice is very ambiguous in what they describe as moisture penetration that caused short ciruit. Mostly lawyer speak for Porsche to cover their rearend. To me, it seems the orientation of the harness is wrong and resulted in water collection (for whatever reason, ran through deep water, leak, etc), and that the seal on the harness is not doing its job.

I will continued to park my car inside, with “auto rest” off (I don’t use that feature anyway), until Porsche has parts to fix it.

This recall has also caused a "stop sale" on Panameras. I was supposed to pick up my new-to-me 2018 Turbo tomorrow, but it was added to the VIN list on Friday. Dealer unwound the deal and returned the check to my bank. They didn't even try to keep a deposit from me. I called PCNA and they agreed I should take my money back. Doesn't seem like this is going to be a part coming anytime soon.

That could be true. On the other hand, maybe the seller had a better offer in the interim.

Sorry, I'm a real skeptic. I've never heard of a dealer backing out on a sale unless it was to their benefit.

I'm a skeptic too, so I had called PCNA, they took the VIN and confirmed it can't be sold right now.

To be clear, the dealer was willing to keep my $1k deposit if "I wanted" to hold the car. They just didn't pressure me because they know this isn't a 2 or 3 days/weeks delay. They were quite professional about it.

It can be checked through PPN by entering the VIN.

Oof that's a bummer. Sounds like Porsche won't be selling any CPO Panameras (2018-2021) for awhile.

Called my SA yesterday. Said call back in two months and maybe they will have the parts?! Called Porsche NA to confirm which they did. Why send a recall letter when it’s two months away from a solution. And agree with the rest here it’s bs to say park it outside away from any other structure as a fix.

2 months??!? Ouch. If that's the wait for current owners, I might get lucky for dealer stock to be fixed by Labor day. Not sure I can wait 6 months for a new daily driver.

This recall is a joke. Porsche get caught with their pants down.

If one looks at the sales volume per year, they practically recall every single panamera 971 from 2017 to 2021, with the exception of the e-hybrids.

My Porsche service advisor just called and said they have received the parts for the recall!
