Good luck with the 992! I've been using both PIWIS and Launch for a year. Launch is faster and easier once you know where to go, but I don't think you'll be coding replacement parts to your car via the Launch (I could be wrong).

I wonder if *** disable would work for 992 as listed for Macan and Cayenne... Many differences with the Macan and 992, impressive list, I'll need to go through it carefully.
Tomorrow (attempt) to change the tach ring from black (default) to whatever... stay tuned. It was either that or go to the mall shopping with TOWMBO... easy choice

Can anyone tell me how the key functions are configured? I played with the coding to retrofit the turbo spoiler and somehow my key stopped opening the trunk. Any idea where to look at?

Doh! I did mean .exe, it was not found.
Windows search found regedt32 in C:\Windows\System32, so I went to look for it, and I learned... This computer has no C drive! Lol, at least not visible in the "This PC" screen. The only drive shown is "DATA (E: )" 14.7GB free of 14.9GB. The other partitions (?) are hidden.
(edit: I tried to navigate to C: in explorer and got another error message, "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.") Lol, can't even navigate/view the disk drive?
I tried to run diskmgmt, but it said that the snap in referenced has been restricted by my administrator.
I tried diskpart.exe and got a command line prompt type window, but no clue what to do with this info, lol.
All I bought from VXDAS was the SSD and dongle.
I supplied my own laptop.
All of the lockdown is done on the OS admin/group policy I think.
So I don't think that imaging the drive and installing in another computer will help.
Also I noticed other weird things locked out, like the ability to minimize or move windows. ***shrug

I just got the PIWIS 3 with clone VCI from Belauto on an old Dell Precision 7710 that I hadn't used for a couple of years. It works great, I got the v38 + v40 with VAS6154 clone for $600 including delivery of the VCI. I just had to download the monstrously huge 76 Gb drive image and restore it to the laptop then Belauto remotely activated the software and VCI and even activated and downloaded the PET2 electronic parts catalog. This system covers everything up to 2020 Taycan. The system does start up in Russian region settings (including the keyboard) at first so you should probably know enough about Windows 8.1 to change the keyboard to English and then to change the region from Russian to whatever you need then your good to go. I get the impression Belauto is a VCI/OBD programmer the VCI clone is directly hooked into the operating system so PIWIS doesn't need to find or register a VCI (PTG3). He probably does the same with the Ferrari VCI.
