To disable the warning "Air Bag disabled" when no passenger present, I tried setting these two variables in Kombi Dash Board BOSCH PO86x 002 to
Byte 4 (bit) 39 - Passenger airbag deactivate (this is for the Warning display not the actual airbag before folks jump on on this) ACTIVE
and
Byte 4 (bit) 40 Passenger airbag active NOT ACTIVE
yet the annoying message is still up there. Anywhere else someone found that needed a change of state?

Does anyone seem to know whether in Kombi -> Kodierwert Byte 00 Marktvariant ECE/RoW have any repercussions across modules - such as disabling the airbag module as it seems that warning is illegal in Australia for example.

No, no baby chair and this is the disable overhead warning that comes on when the passenger seat is empty

I just ordered my new insanely fast 16" MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon M1 Max/32 GB Ram ![Cool](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
I'll be searching for a way to run my existing VMs on the new computer-hopefully it will be possible to use the VMs I have stored on an external drive-otherwise I'll keep using my 2011 17" w/ SSD which has been working very well.
From reading the Piwis threads, in the beginning w/ Piwis II, people were already running a virtual version of Piwis, but I can't remember which other software aside from VMware Fusion they were using-maybe Parallels or something else-
So hopefully I'll be able to get the new version of VmWare Fusion on the new computer and open the existing VMs, or maybe Parallels might be a better choice if possible. I'll be reading about it the next few weeks, my Mac has been un-upgradeable from High Sierra and now it's not only a new OS(Monterey)but a whole new chip and it will take time for apps and systems to catch up-
Best,
JB

I got the 13" M1 MBP (an an M1 iMac for the wife as our existing Macs are 2009 and 12 vintage) but it was just too much hassle using either VMWare or Parallels so for $200 bucks a Lenovo touch Yoga works. Did you touch any of the above by chance?

My 2011 17" w/ 16 GB RAM and fast SSD runs everything just fine, but I'd certainly like to get the Piwis VM and Windows that I have to work on the new computer. Being it's the new Apple Silicon chip and no longer Intel, it changed things quite a bit-
The new computers haven't even reached many customers yet since it's so new, it'll take time-

Are the SSDs SATA or M.2 on the new M1s? My MBP I ordered with 1TB SSD - RAM was 8GB max.

Cool, but does PIWIS3 work on Win10?

It's not what I'm trying to accomplish, I believe existing Piwis III VMs run on Windows 8. I just run Piwis III VM and it currently works very well on the old 17" High Sierra Mac
I also run a Windows 10 VM that I also run when Windows is needed for other tasks, like when I used Durametric
The new Apple Silicon is a different platform

Got it, thanx for clarifying.
The only thing I used to run Windows (XP) was Visio (since moved partly to draw.io), VAG-COM, CoolEdit2000 (moved to Audacity and GarageBand) and now PIWIS (Windows8). No other use for it.
Yep, the M1 architecture is different and happy to see memory usage is better managed; one of my pep peeves was the lack of use of freemem in Apple etc. code ;-)

Since this will be of interest to others who get the new Apple Silicon machines with new platform, here's an explanation with options. And from what I'm reading elsewhere, it looks like Parallels and Fusion are already setting up for the new platform-

Your setup with a dedicated windows laptop is an excellent choice and you should be set without issues![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
My 2011 machine is working well with VMs but once the new one is capable of using the VMs, I'd certainly like to get it set up-
