You need the ACR as you have the skills to get the most out of it.

Thanks, Im leaning towards the ACR because it has a better motor IMO. I think the Corvette's ultimately have more potential in terms of speed though.

Why not wait for the C7?
I think the new LS3 could be better than then the LS7 or get a C6 GrandSport for about 53K and save about 10k on the old model.

Why build the motor? They make good power, certainly enough torque?
You are in the Corvette corner of the world wit MTI in your back yard.

If the new LS3 isn't any better than the old one it is a piece of junk. T1 racers blow them up like Popcorn.

ACR also has much better aero and downforce than the Vette. I have posted this before but I watched an ACR run sub 2 min at VIR on Michelin PS2's in 2008 OLOA.

I heard that the LS3 with dry sump was the most solid Corvette motor?

Thats not saying much as I have seen, as you have, tons of Corvette motors blow on the track. Don t let my opinion influence you. Just get the new vette and put it through its paces on the track. Somebody has to be the test monkey After all I was the Boss302 test monkey and you know how that turned out.

IF I was getting a vette it would be a C5ZO6 which I would have full track ready for less than 30k or just buy an old T1 car for the same $$

Early ones had oiling problems with dry sump. Later ones some had valve issues. Dropped valve sucks. No way to know if you have a problem one until it happens.

Of course newer 3's have variocam bolts, self destroying clutches, tranny problems, departing center locks, non functional LSD.

Pick your problems and enjoy the ride.

New Viper TA 1:33.6 at Laguna on Corsas. 1:30.6 with slicks on. IMSA platinum 7 Cups run 1:28's.

With a manual! Not even the ACR aero yet!!!

I'm glad some manufacturers are still selling real track cars and not gimmicks. By the time the GTS-3 arrives, it will be getting lapped by the competition.

Call me Viper fanboy from now on. I'm all up in the bandwagon.

You have to be thankful and love the Americans for picking up the slack here..

The Corvette still offers up a great car for not much cash, so I'm still in vavor of first killing a 65K C7 before I try the Viper.

I will probably own both, first the Corvette than the Viper next to the 4.0 to prove to myself they are track worthy like the 4.0.

They are faster for sure.

Amen to that. SRT has a real car guy running their program. And fortunately, they don't have the budget to be putting a bunch of nannies all over the car. So they just grab a sledgehammer and beat everyone over the head with it. Gotta love it.

Just make sure you have a good dealer relationship with the Corvette, if the motor goes boom on the track, they have been known to be ****** about it.
