Default Android Auto on 2021

My 2021 Base Macan has CarPlay but not Android Auto, as everyone already knows. I'm driving a 2023 Cayenne loaner now that has Carplay and Android Auto and it got me wanting Android Auto. I know there is the activation service by a vendor here but I found a cheaper and simpler device that may work. I ordered it from Amazon for $150 with free returns so there's no risk if it doesn't work.

The Amazon and distributor links are below. These are typically China made devices rebranded by a few distributors. The site is a bit sketchy but it specifically says that (somehow) it enables Android Auto support for any car that has CarPlay support. Porsche is on the list of compatible vehicles (along with every other brand) so I'll give it a try unless anyone thinks this can cause damage.

Amazon Amazon

Thanks for posting @BMinSFL, I found a similar one (rebranding like you say) for a bit less also on
amazon amazon
Worth a go and return if not entirely satisfied. I find the AA/CP graphics a bit Fisher Price but could get over it for the wireless aspect, I use AA on my Golf but plug-in.

For $100 more you can get Porsche native android auto and more reliable and responsive, most importantly it will be full screen rather than 2/3 screen by using the external usb device

I thought it was $645 for that service? It's only $250 on a 2021?

correct the normal full screen android auto is $249 after forum discount

1. Full screen 1772x650 resolution with smaller icon
2. Whole screen 1920x720 resolution with bigger icon like 2022 cayenne,Panamera

you were looking at whole screen not full screen

Full screen 1772x650 $249 after forum discount

Whole screen HD 1920x720 $595 after forum discount

Ok, thank you for the clarification. Is the full screen more stable than whole screen? I have a 2023 Cayenne now as a loaner and I like the whole screen a lot.

For me its not the money, but not wanting to brick / break the OEM system.
I know Innosoft says it is at the app level only. What happens if Porsche updates the firmware, do we need to pay another $250 to re-initiate it ?
Or what if Porsche denies me warranty claim if something happens.

Porsche does have very restricted warranty policies that is why we have made our mod very unique way. The mod on just application level which will be fully invisible to any dealers diagnostic tool. We have done so many of them for Rennlist member (more than 100) all had 100% satisfaction. No warranty issue at all

Again if you have read the thread about the activation for android you will know that we don’t insert any enabling code to car.
The activation we do that will not insert any fake factory enabling code.
for firmware update which is done by manufacture level not dealer level. Even if in any case the pcm got replaced or updated by manufacturer there is a process to restore the installation from us which is completely free of charge and easy to restore as long as it is the same car.

Totally understood, it's a great product you offer and for the effort you made in designing the product and continue to provide you deserve more sales to come.
I personally don't need the android version but it get's a couple of applications into play on the screen which I've found useful in another car. I'll try the $100 widget and report back, good or bad.

Really appreciated your comment, those media box works great via CarPlay protocol.

Some of them supports YouTube, Netflix, and video streaming, but the only issue is that with original system only gives you 2/3 screen even with the media box you have. It will work great if you have full screen HD mode enabled

I got the box in (ordered from Amazon) and I was up and running within a minute.

Yes, the screen is smaller and there is no pinch to zoom on the maps for some reason, but for something that is plug and play, I am impressed. It's a legitimate Android Auto setup and seems to be smooth and responsive.

I haven't driven yet with it so I'll report back once I have some more road time to determine if there may be connectivity issues. I have a month to return it to Amazon if necessary.

The innovativesoft option is definitely tempting and I may go with that at some point but flashing and modding my brand-new-to-me car with a warranty isn't something I'd love to do right now.

Just got mine this morning, the ottocast version, and it works fine too. Reconnects without intervention.

No pinch to zoom.
I'm ok with the smaller screen and retaining the other quick access icons/widgets - I don't have the nice quick access buttons below the screen on the '22.
