It's for sure going on. Two years ago you had Northeast buyers paying over for base macans. With this one, a decent spec will be 100K give or take. Take on another 10K as a cover charge for the dealer.

I like what they did with this car and I think it looks really good. I would seriously consider replacing my 2018 GTS with this in maybe 2025. I think it will make a great daily and transport for MTB, skiing, and to the track. I am not all hell bent on my road cars being ICE. I'd actually prefer an EV as a daily and it is a safe bet that this thing will drive really well with excellent dynamics and feedback. Porsche has a near perfect track record in that area. I think it would pair really well with a flat six weekend car. I'd spec mine like this:

I think I get what Porsche's concept was on this. They wanted to recapture the look of the Saturn because that was so great. And since the current styling on Japanese cars is just so amazing they went for that too. But they also wanted it to look like a giant insect. Perhaps they'll make preying mantis legs available in future versions. I imagine this will sell well in places where EV planet saving pride and look I have the latest and it's a Porsche segments overlap, so CA and um...CA.

You put up with a lot to drive a Porsche so they have to deliver on a lot of fronts and this doesn't for me based on looks and specs particularly weight. I'll be asking for my deposit back.

I actually totally agree with you. I run 20" on my 2018 and 18" in the winter. I strongly prefer beefy sidewalls. I only chose that wheel because of the Neodyme and I don't like the one 20" option. Given the current choices I would probably order 21" "Offroad Design Wheels" and have them painted Neodyme and then maybe the aero 20's for winter duty.

That oak green and neodyme wheel combination is very nice.

It would have been nice to see a few more "aggressive" colors in the palette.

With the Macan being priced at what it is (or approx. 100k with some basic options), does that make the Taycan Cross Turismo sort of obsolete, especially given that a Taycan CT will easily run you more than 40-50k than a similarly equipped Macan EV (that has a better platform and battery layout)?

"striking design" ha ha.

Mauer might have been advised strongly not to eff up the 911, but his judgment on the Macans over the last decade has been atrocious. Every time his team touches the front or rear fascias, they become more overwrought messes. The stupid side blades stubbornly remain despite everyone wanting them to be gone, or at least less conspicuous. The Macan EV now adds ugly hip crinkles and possibly the ugliest headlight package and hood treatment I have ever seen on a Porsche. And then, to top it all off, an EV with very little need for intake air in the front has massive open jowls as if it was a fire breathing monster.

I am not impressed with the styling whatsoever.

Think the Macan EV looks awesome, especially in the Oak Green. I would like the option for 19 tires though for even better range and I wish it was coming out with NACS right away, so not having NACS will make me hesitant of purchasing one. I think not offering NACS now is a mistake. Could care less of the free EA charging. Car MFG’s should not even be offering free charging at EA, as it is already bad enough.

Curious if this will have Apple’s more advanced CarPlay system that was supposed to arrive in Porsche and Aston Martin cars first this year?

If you are an Apple enthusiast, then you should be accustomed to a bag full of adapters by now. What's one more for your Macan charging cable? Porsche, like Apple, will be happy to sell you officially licensed adapters for a nice price....

One man's loss is another man's gain! Looking forward to buying these in two years for $60k.

What are you talking about? I never brought up an adapter about anything. CarPlay is not an adapter - lol. And the new Carplay that is coming to Porsche and Aston Martin looks awesome. Guessing this will not get it based on the drivers infotainment display still looks older.

I can't answer your question but do not go by the look of the infotainment. This vehicle is using a whole new architecture and OS, they only made it look similar to other Porsche's. The new OS is Android Automotive based with both Carplay and AA available. Here is the best overview I have found:
