I hope you gave consideration for the difficulty in designing those cars with the engine hanging off the rear end, as your GT4 has superior balance!
Sleep is better than I thought but still a challenge. We are waking him up on our terms to feed for the most part. He went back to the hospital for phototherapy a few days this week...so those were some sleepless nights.
I can spill the beans on my allocation now I suppose... More or less, pure luck. I was on the list with a couple of dealers locally (which I know now is pretty much meaningless) and just happened to be cruising another forum (a BMW forum) when I noticed someone had just posted that their dealer had a couple allocations with a catch...non-refundable deposit of $2500 (didn't bother me...I'm good for my money) and had to sign that you were taking the car without buckets (also OK...though I would've preferred the buckets). So I immediately emailed the GM of that dealership and then he replied and copied his sales manager. The rest is history...

Today I did the break-in oil change at 985 just shy of my target of 1,000 miles.
Kind of a pain. Took me a good 2 hours. One thing that really irritates me is the oil drain plug is uphill when you have the rear of the car jacked up. Counter-intuitive. My NSXs were the same for some reason. That meant I had to lower the rear down and jack the front up to get a good full drain (with the rear blocked a little so it wouldn't crush the oil drain pan). I suspect it is this way because the engine in the 911 would be 180 degrees flipped and would have the drain plug going downhill with the rear of the car in the air. So I guess they did not want to change the oil pan design for use in the Cayman. Are the 3.4L Caymans like this as well?
I put 8 quarts in (tried to put 7.9X but ran a little over) and when I got the car heated up and level checked it said only one square above minimum.
Update: I took it for a short drive after the oil change and then re-measured. Still one square over min so I slowly added and rechecked. About 1/2 quart more got me to 2 squares. Then I did another 1/6 quart and that put me to max 4 squares over. So looks like the difference between 3 and 4 squares is pretty slim. 3 squares over min is what is recommended for the track so in my case I would want to extract a tiny bit or hope it burns off after a bit. So with a thorough oil drain it took me 8 and 2/3 quarts to get to full when the manual calls for 7.9X quarts.
On another note, when I took it out after the oil change I really got to rip some gears. My conclusions are that the car needs momentum to really feel like it pulls. So 1-2-3 pulls felt so much better than a 2nd gear roll on which frankly feels slow. Also, the gearing is way way too damn tall for having fun on the street. You get illegal well before peak HP in 2nd gear. I don't know how the base Cayman or Cayman S guys tolerate this gearing on the street.
