GT4 RS in the works? Rumors of a 4.0...

This thread reminds me of the original GT4 thread with all the misinformation (provided by various cleaning personnel), the pricing exclusivity wanted/expected by some, and the general wishful thinking. Only to be followed by threads of elation as well as disappointment.

I know I shortened my life expectancy by 3 years going through the rigmarole waiting for the GT4. I don't know if I have the reserve to go through the waiting game again

be prepared that GT4RS would be significantly higher in price. 20-25% more would be my bet.
at that price, may will opt used GT3.
i am not saying GT3 is better, but a GT4 is not a GT3
in the porsche world the rear badge commands a v ery very very SERIOUS premium , long hood 911 E is way more than a 911T and 911S is now insanely priced.
lots of gt3 drivers bought GT4 to play with and love it
but a large % of those are moving back to GT3 or alwasy have both.
so when 4's price increase too much, it's will drive away many buyers.
of course that's just my own personal BS

GT4RS may very well likely be a better performer than the .1 GT3. Agree that cachet of 911 carries a real premium. It's not clear how the Cayman models will hold over time.
924GTS are selling at high prices, but that was a limited run.
I had bought the GT4 over a vanilla 911 because it was a more special car and cost about the same. That said, I'd have a hard time spending $130-140k on a Cayman product -- fair or not.
$120k optioned out, $110k base makes sense, but I'm skeptical they'll do that.

The GT4RS is coming. As to the details no one knows for certain. It will certainly be an interesting car.
But - with the 4.0 GT3 with a Manual arriving late this year that will be my next toy. Not because I prefer 911 over a Cayman but because that 4.0 L high revving 500 hp engin will be a beast.
Give me this engine detuned to 450 but still high revving with shorter gearing and i would opt for the GT4RS over the GT3. I think the Cayman is prettier and the platform superior

I really don't understand the hype. One UK (!) car magazine releases a vague allegation and other car magazines just copy this ... sorry ... BS. And everybody starts becoming hysterical. Do we have any secured information? Just spreading rumors. Same BS like the 4.2 liter engine in the new GT3.
