Default Where to you put your iPhone?

...or Android phone, but I'm guessing most of you have iPhones. Standard vent mounts don't seem to work very well on the GT4, and the armrest storage area may not satisfy those who want to see their screen more easily, for navigation for instance. So where do you put your phone while driving? Clever mounts, anyone?

Windshield suction mount along side the A Pillar.

Simple. Cheap. Works.

Scosche magnetic vent mount attached to the vent just to the right of the steering wheel, with a steel attraction plate stuck to your phone / phone case. Works perfectly! Thanks to electronspeeder who first showed me this config.

If you connect it in the glovebox you get increased navigation on music functionality through PCM, charging, album art, and reduced distraction.

On the track, I have a mount that fits in the CD slot.
On the street, the phone goes in the center console.

Please explain the increased navigation point. PCM confuses me.

Yup - this works perfectly. Super convenient, exactly in the right spot, super small form factor, nothing to suction to the windshield. I'll try to upload a photo later.

I would warn that most knock-offs of this design don't work well and that I would only recommend a few brands, Scosche being one of them.

I'm curious about this "increased navigation on music" functionality too. The only thing I've noticed is that if you pair the phone via Bluetooth and have navigation running on the phone, the turn-by-turn instructions won't be played on the stereo unless you have the phone as your active audio source, but this is true even when the phone is connected and can also be fixed by just choosing the AUX BT audio source, no need to plug it in.

I've been using this. Stick it into the slot just right of the screen. Perfect location to plug in cable as well.

Only downside is that it could leave an imprint in the leather so i try to move it up or down every so often.

My wife has a Kenu Airframe and it seems to work when we tested it in my car. She uses it in lots of other cars as well since her job requires her to travel and take rental cars, and she likes having small cars that almost never include nav. That plus a Scosche USBC242M makes for a pretty convenient travel solution, since the latter is small but not so small it's impossible to remove from the outlet and offers simultaneous dual 12W charging, which is as much juice as USB provides until you step into some USB Type-C devices.

Or there's the T-Design mount specifically for the 991/981.
