3rd gear failure today, on track. Drove home after a Porsche mechanic (actually Head Aftersales at a larger company running more that one Porsche dealerships) at the track told me that I am fine. Interesting to read what GTgears wrote, if I would have known I would have insisted on trailering the car home. Still under warranty, so will get 2nd box and hope they have changed something....

When you say 2nd box, is s this the first time your trans failed, or the second time?

August 2016. 6th track day. And first box, will now get the second.

My first 2 replacement boxes were damaged in transit. 3rd time was a charm.

wrapped in tissue paper I guess. How stupid. More lost track time for my track junkie friend.

Not wrapped at all... mine were sitting in a hollow cardboard box (no packing materials) on top of a crate. Trans was free to roll around on top of the crate as far as I could tell (and it did, breaking off chunks of the housing in shipment).

Update: Box was out of the car this forenoon, Porsche approved replacement under warranty within less than 4 hours, no questions asked, new box on its way and will most probably arrive tomorrow. Car might be ready mid week / for the weekend.

Anyone have any power mods (headers/tune,ect) with a broken trans? Any issues/questions with warranty?

Sorry to hear that 05C4R. That's the first Aussie car I've heard of ....mine is a July '16 build. Was that 6400 or 64000kms?

sorry to hear... mine is a June 16 build, 3,000km and about 12 track days so far, actually only use this car for track driving.

no issue as yet, fingers crossed

thanks, happened yesterday at the track, no warning at all before hand and then thud and nothing, 1st to 2nd gear change is pretty clunky now and the box made all sorts of noises on the way home.

its got 6400kms only, but a lot of track time, got it from PCSS, hope they are nice about it.

its a well known issue, track work or not. and if anyone is going to stand behind their product it better be PCSS & PCM.

i'm sure all will be made good
