Best Track Times in a GT4

Chris, Check eccentric on rear toe and camber. I had a similar condition with my 987.1 when the rear camber eccentric moved. If you have the eccentric lock out on toe, probably the camber. Camber change changes toe and car will not run straight on the track requiring steering change.

That is a VERY good time for TWS on street tires and OE alignment.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas to what I experienced - hollar. Otherwise, I'm going to look underneath one more time before I bring it to the alignment shop to see what numbers we are at now. One guy at track said maybe my "bump steer" is off. But I'm just a driver and horrible with a wrench - I'll have to figure out what that means..

Thanks Manifold!!
Sway Bars - Hard Rear, Soft Front
Aero - front removed per manual, Rear full wing angle
Wheels - OZ 20" (same size as OEM) (fronts 1.2 lb lighter, rear .8 lb lighter)
Alignment - FrCam -2.8 RearCam -2.0 FrTotToe -.05 RearTotToe +.32 Caster 9.3 (allignment shop installed Tarett Front Tie Rod, Rear Toe Link, Thrust Arm Bushing to get <-2.0 camber)
Fuel - ~95 octane (not 93) as I was reading in the forums 93 min and 95 fine in Germany...
Weather - perfect (sunny, ~55F)
I believe the RE71R's are ~ 1 second quicker than CUP2, in my case several factors changed so inclusive... but most people think they are a little faster though.
...
About the alignment --- this is what I have to figure out - but I suspect something came loose in the alignment mid day 1, and the steering wheel would want to shift bad on bumps, also the steering wheel got uncentered.
...
I checked all the bolts that 1st night, and they all seemed tight. This is what the steering wheel looked like leaving Summit after day 2 (straight road!! :0) It was getting colder, I didn't refill the tire pressure (shame) if i had to guess, the pressures were about 23ish). But get this, the ESP turned off. I guessed it couldn't keep up with the craziness of stability just like me!?!?

Regarding your alignment, what's your rear camber? Are those toe numbers toe-in at front and rear? Did the car drive ok on the road with the track alignment?
I do suspect that your alignment shifted under load. Even if the bolts seem tight, things can still move if they're not tight enough. Once you get everything re-adjusted, you may want to paint some marks so you can do visual checks to see if anything moves. Maybe you're just driving too fast.

I also once had the ESC give up in my 997.1 C2S. Seemed it got tired of fighting me (intervention threshold is likely much lower than the GT4). The code went away after I restarted the car, but I ran with ESC off after that.

If the steering wheel went off center that means the thrust angle changed. Meaning the toe on one rear wheel changed . After you get it set mark the eccentrics with a sharpie . That way you can check them without having to lift the car. Carl

Thanks myBalley07!! This was my first time to drive TWS on GT4 but the car was really easy to push and RE71R held pretty good. I still see some areas I can improve so I hope I can break 51 next if the condition is similar.
Thanks SHakeNBake!! Your 1m48.9s is great too!!

New PB for me yesterday at Laguna 1:42.47. This was my 8th track day on RE71Rs and they are finally done. Mods: TPC rear toe links, DSC Mod. and Tarett springs as well as the usual suspension bits. -2.7F & -2.4R camber.
