I can tell you that the gains came from the header and not the throttle and plenum. Gained next to nothing going from header only to header and the other parts.

Agree 100% that the header is probably the best mod right now.....I have hold off the IPD/GT3 TB mod to see what results TPC gets with their GT3 intake system. IMO the whole package is needed (Exhaust, intake, ECU, etc) to get the results but it does get a bit expensive for the gains.....Also, a custom tune goes long way, at least that was the case with my car.

Were you able to get a base dyno...then just headers...then headers and tune?

Assuming this is with stock PSE

Like most cases here in RL, unfortunately no....the owner of the shop had a identical GT4 with a bit less miles and we used that as a baseline. Our first dyno was header + exhaust and then we did another dyno session for the custom COBB tune. I know it's not the optimum to gauge gains but didn't had the time to go back a forth to do before /after runs. For some strange reason my car was very lean with the exhaust mods, made more power than a stock GT4 but not the expected results, specially at the higher RPMSs.....we were able to fix it with the COBB AP and gain a considerable amount of power.

BTW...my car also has an exhaust system besides sport headers.

So tune is a must with the headers. Just headers alone car runs not to par.

Sport headers alone are Ok but you could refine and gain a bit more power with a Tune....for Race headers I would say that a Tune is a must.

Wouldn't the car go into limp mode without a tune?

Not with Sport headers....the race are a different story. You could use a mini-cat to fool the ECU but you would be leaving a lot on the table due to the increase flow and with a tune you also get rid of the CELs.

I ran my race headers with no tune and got no cels.. this included two track events and several 100 street miles. Could be that the ecu mapping we get over in the middle east is diff from the us ones?
