My 2 piece Sport Manifolds were delivered this morning 2-13. They were in Germany on Saturday 2-11 That is fast service from Germany to California in two days. Thank you BGB, John and Wray. They will be installed within 24 hours.
FedEx delivered my set today. Super fast shipping. It wasn't supposed to arrive until tomorrow. I ordered the sport headers with the optional cat delete pipe. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality of construction. Pics below.
So, who has already installed their headers?
How was the install? Any problems?
Any impressions regarding performance?
How about the sound?
Anyone tried the "delete pipe"?
My race units came a couple days ago. I had some serious engine trouble at Cresson this past weekend (misfires), so car is going to dealer before I put them on.
So my CG Sports are for sale if anyone is interested in a used set.

Are you installing them with the cats or without? I'm also in OC and have the CG Sports.

I have the race header (one piece) and the install is fairly straightforward. I suggest you use a new gasket (the one between the head and the header) as mine leaked when i first installed it with the used gasket. Also the header did not come with nuts and bolts for the connection to the exhaust system. Had to source those myself. Another observation was that the header only had a provision for one O2 sensor. I initially ran the car with only the precat sensor installed and the post cat sensors disconnected. I have (based on advice) since welded in extra bungs and reinstalled the post cat sensors.
The sound at idle and part throttle is surprisingly the same as stock HOWEVER the minute you push the throttle all gates of hell break loose.. during a recent track event with super and hyper cars present i was told my GT4 attracted more people to the main straight than any other car all due to the sound. Anyone that tells you a race header at full throttle is only slightly more than stock is not being truthful.
Performance, on the dyno the race header, plenum, throttlebody, and tune gave about 25whp. Currently my car is putting 368whp.

Can you share a bit of info on dyno type, gear used, temps, mileage on the car, etc? I know is futile comparing different cars, different dynos and locations but mire does exactly the same peak on a Mustang Dyno but without the IPD/TB and with Sport Headers + Cup Race exhaust......is your tune custom or an OTS?

Dynojet, 3rd, stable oil and water temps in sport mode (80's Cel i think), 10000km.
I can tell you that the gains came from the header and not the throttle and plenum. Gained next to nothing going from header only to header and the other parts.

+1 That's my experience as well. When I pulled the plenum off, my "unintended revving" problem went away as well.
