PTS Spyder Build Status...

997sc,
First, Congrats on your new PTS Sport Classic Grey Spyder!!! Looks amazing!!! My Spyder is nearly identical to yours. Mine has the painted roll bars and painted interior trim and PCM surround.
According to the Porsche Exclusive department in Germany, there is only 3 PTS Sport Classic Grey Spyders in the world. Two in Germany... Yours and 550.spyder's and mine in the USA.
Mine won't deliver until late March/early April. So I have to drool over photos of yours!
Oh one question... pretty sure it's just a typo, but you stated Sport Classic Grey as 61A... I thought the SCG paint code was 63A???
Anyways please post more pics!!! I need them to hold me over.
Thanks again!

MY GAWD!!! THESE PICS ARE FREAKING AMAZING!
THE WAIT IS KILLING ME. I'M STILL DECIDING IF THESE PICS ARE HELPING ME OR HURTING THE EVERLASTING WAIT!!!
Oh, noticed that you and 550.spyder's cars have rear tinted lights where I went with the standard Spyder/GT4 tail lights.

providing us with 'scoops'. And if you look at my posting history, you will
find that I studiously give credit to each & every person that provides us
here at Rennlist with information that helps us all understand better how
PTS works at Porsche. That is why I have the support of so many readers
here at Rennlist in my long association with this forum.
I understand Eduardo. He’s trying to create transparency in the PTS
policy of Porsche. Apparently, not an easy thing to do.
As such, he’s eager to obtain every little bit of information, information
he’s happy to share here. I guess this information was already helpful
for a lot of people here. So when a particular color is discussed and
information is withheld, that can be a little bit frustrating.

I totally see where he is coming from, just because he posts here a lot or
Planet 9 he is under no obligation to share what he learned, in fact it just
made sure he has the only one in the country...hell he has a list growing
of people ready to buy it when something else catches his fancy... Stop
banging your head and clap for his being enterprising and tenacious.
Hell for a guy that has owned this many Spyders I think he deserves it.
Bravo!

this particular individual - Donavan. He started a 987 Boxster Spyder
registry call Spyda.com and was able to obtained vins, specs, histories,
etc from other Spyder owners. The site held much promise. Then one
day he took it down & the information it contained (which was the result
of what the other Spyder owners provided) disappeared into a black hole.
https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...spyda-com.html
We tried to get the information back from Donavan in 2012:
https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...er-spyder.html
And it seem at first that we were going to get it:
https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...-internet.html
But it was short-lived.
Many of us have never forgotten that episode & it probably has tainted
our opinion of this particular individual at our forum. But I hope the
experience of this new group of 981 Spyder owners with navanoD will
be more positive.
Saludos,
Eduardo

Wow, Eduardo way to hold a grudge! I wasn't going to reply to your bashing messages, but I have had enough. Let this be a lesson for anyone that contributes several hours of their life to creating something for enthusiast then go through a divorce and had to refocus his life. Yes, I went MIA... Financially and emotionally I was barely making it. Unfortunately, I had to stop funding the website during this period of time and cars was the last thing on my mind. Also note that the site was also built on iWeb, which Apple no longer supports or sells. I still have the files, but it is a huge (size wise) bundle and I am more than happy to send this to anyone that wants it. Didn't realize it had so much of a impact on some to the point that they bash them for it. I for one never want anyone to go through a bad divorce as I did. To this day it affects me. I am fortunate to recover financially to a certain degree, but my ex has managed to poison my son's head and has disowned me. Eduardo, I applaud you! I use to respect you and the knowledge you provided to this site. But you have shown your true colors!!! If others feel as you do, I will leave... As I no longer tolerate others that have zero respect for me.

Oh and for myself withholding that Sport Classic Grey info. Didn't realize that I was obligated to share everything I know about anything regarding Porsche. One thing I learned from my Riviera Blue Spyder, it being the only one in existence made it retain its value much higher than any other Spyder. Sorry if I want to try and achieve the same for my 981... Oh and don't give me the BS that I regularly contribute and I'm obligated to share. I have a right to share what I want when I want.

threads I have posted above. Many of us contacted Donavan & asked
him to forward the information others (not him) had contributed to the
DSpyda website so that it wouldn't be totally 'lost'.

If Donavan would have been honest & upfront with us at the time this
was happening, perhaps someone in our forum would have help fund
the website or taken it over. All water under the bridge now...but the
memory (& bad taste in our mouths) lingers after all these years!

Nobody is disputing that. Was it the right thing to do? I don't think so. There
is a pattern of what I would categorize as selfish behavior with you on this
forum, Donavan, whether its the DSpyda affair or not revealing to this forum
that 'Sport Classic Grey' was indeed available to other Rennlisters. Perhaps
others don't care & that is their right. But I am entitled to express my opinion.

Why is this bothering you so much? were you looking for this color and denied. I totally see where he is coming from, just because he posts here a lot or Planet 9 he is under no obligation to share what he learned, in fact it just made sure he has the only one in the country...hell he has a list growing of people ready to buy it when something else catches his fancy. Frankly given your posting history on PTS I would imagine your more upset about being scooped on the color than the fact he got it. Stop banging your head and clap for his being enterprising and tenacious. Hell for a guy that has owned this many Spyders I think he deserves it.
Bravo!
