Personally, I think we should know how some folks were tipped-off
that 'Sport Classic Grey', color code 63A, was possible to do when
that information was not available to 99% of the Porsche customers.
And don't give me 'Melissa is my friend' line, because EVERY Porsche
customer, in theory, is Melissa's 'friend' too & she can't afford to play
'favorites' in her capacity as a representative of 'Porsche Exclusive' in
the US. I am having a hard time understanding how keeping the
information that 'Sport Classic Grey' was available but not allowed to
be widely known is justified since it puts the majority of Porsche's PTS
customers at an unfair disadvantage not knowing that such a color was
also available to them.

So far I know of 3 PTS Sport Classic Grey 981 Spyders, 2 in Europe and mine. I'm sure there are others out there.
I was originally planning to reveal my Spyder upon delivery, but others have let the cat out of the bag before me.
My Spyder is currently in V260 Status - 1/14/16. ETA is late March / early April?

Great for you, navanoD! I am older in age but younger in Porsche years, having bought my first Porsche in 2014. I read everything I can and while I have a non PTS Spyder on its way from the factory I really enjoy reading this thread and learning about PTS. I can see the significance in you obtaining Sport Classic Grey. So very cool! Of course, I think if a buyer could only get one option for his Spyder and none other, it should be PTS since the Boxter Spyder is so well equipped any way, so any one with PTS are huge winners, I think. Congrats. Looking forward to seeing your pics after it lands here in the U. S.!

Donavan: Let me first say that I am very happy for you. So by
reading in between the lines, you are telling us that your PTS 981
Spyder will also be 'Sport Classic Grey', color code 63A! Congratulations!
****
For those that might not keep up with the 'bizarro' world of Porsche
'exclusive' colors, 'Sport Classic Grey' was introduced for the Limited
Edition '911 Sport Classic' that PAG brought out in ROW back in MY2010.
http://press.porsche.com/news/release.php?id=499
And that exact color was never allowed to be duplicated via PTS...
until a lucky VIP 918 Spyder owner got the approval in 2015.
And now, Gerald & Donovan are telling us that this color has been done
for some 981 Spyder clients...even thought 'Sport Classic Grey' does not
appear yet on the approved PTS list last revised by PAG on Nov 17th, 2015!

Eduardo,
As you know until recently Sport Classic Grey was strictly prohibited
due to the 2010 Exclusive Limited 911 Sport Classic.
I happen to discover the availability when I inquired about the difference
between Fashion, Arrow, Grigio Campovolo and Sport Classic Grey with
Porsche Exclusive. I was informed that Sport Classic Grey is not on the
official PTS list, and is only available if a customer specifically requests
it directly through the Porsche Exclusive.
So far I know of 3 PTS Sport Classic Grey 981 Spyders, 2 in Europe and
mine. I'm sure there are others out there.

Glad that worked out well for you. I guess you felt under no obligation
to inform fellow Rennlisters of this unusual PTS development...even
though you have maintained a very high profile at the 981 forum!
https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...ld-status.html

But I am deeply disappointed that Melissa Witek & the 'Porsche Exclusive'
department knew that 'Sport Classic Grey' was available for PTS on the
981/991 & failed to inform the vast majority of their PTS customers, at
least on this US market.
************
I think you let the cat out all by yourself!
chosen for your Spyder & why you have been playing it so 'coy'
for the past six months re: the color you had selected & would
not share the information with those that asked!

I am curious, when did Sport Classic grey become approved, when did you find out, and were you the person who requested the approval for 981? Thanks!

While wie are at it with PTS Grey Spyders: when I visited the factory on Friday I realised that it's part of the incentive scheme for the workers to do a little bit of racing during the lunch break Needless to say that the Spyder took the lead in front of the Carrera

Donavan let me know when you decide to sell your Spyder, please put me at the top of the list of interested buyers. Assuming it has LWB's!

My apology for "prison porridge" comment, didn't read attentively and realized car belonged to someone here, thought it was a random spotting in Germany. I'm sure looks fantastic in real life
