Australian GT4s

They can run already in the Aust GT Trophy series that runs on the Shannons Nationals calendar.
It would be good to see a GT4 revival in Oz. It was killed off due to them allowing the Lotus Exige Cup R which was way over spec'd. But with the Cayman, the 570S, the new M4 GT4 plus the old cars from Ginetta a good GT4 series would be mega.
Plus there is the option of running them at Bathurst 12hr. I think they'd be awesome there. Can't wait to take mine there in November.

Hey Rod - presuming Paul's (PodAus) arrives in time there will be 5 of us with GT4's that I know of doing Bathurst.
We are all doing the Sprint. (Lightning). http://challengebathurst.com/
One of my best mates is actually coming over from Perth with his car Rod - some of you Sandgropers may know him - Blaise Paris and his fancy 964 hotrod. He's coming over to do the 2 day event at Phillip Island on Nov 12-13 and then is coming up to Bathurst for the sprint.

Awesome, hope to have my car ready by then.
Challenge Bathurst would be great to shake down the new/restored car.
Was out with Blaise last week at Barbagello.... I had the 2 Tonne Macan out while he was testing the new Porsche aero package

Yeah he has gone a bit silly with the aero!
But everything we know about comparable lap times say his car and the GT4 should be VERY similar in speed (I know most of the GT4 times in Perth are slower than Blaise but we've had cars before that have been over to both Perth and Vic and they have all been 64s Barbagallo / 49s Collie and 1.46 Phillip Island cars which is what the GT4 can do over here on Trofeo R's). But we are looking forwards to finding out for sure come November. The **** talk has already started

I think NZ/AU orders must be finishing soon. Dealer yesterday told me they have allocations shipping October. NZ should have 7 more units coming before production ends, although the info I was given was from sales persons so could be wrong...
How many 991 GT3RS have landed in OZ now? We are supposedly getting 19-20...

Has anyone had any experience with Famous Insurance, they seem to tick all the boxes and they're quite a bit cheaper than anyone else.
Here are some of their features and benefits.
I rang a well respected panel repairer shop and they said that their underwriters are excellent and without any problems.
I have a short term policy with Shannons to coincide with my other car policy, so I'm up for renewal.
I haven't really heard of them up until recently and would like to hear from someone who maybe has had to put a claim through them and what sort of an experience they've had.
TIA
Jim

I'm not sure of your circumstances but Famous quoted me $2100 for 260k agreed value on GT4 with 1950 excess as a 2 car multi policy.
