Has anyone else in Aus tried this?

https://rennlist.com/forums/gt4/9318...l#post13434624

Prior to my headers/tune mod I tried this and didn't really notice any difference. I am somewhat puzzled by this as various US based people have suggested in makes a big change for them.

Is there a difference with our cars that changes the behaviour? We have all the some vacuum hosing so I'm surprised that making this change had no material effect.

Thoughts?

Went to Porsche Centre Brighton this morning to fill out some paperwork for my car (hopefully should pick it up before the end of the month) and spent ages chatting with Richard, Phil, and Michael. Great guys.

Got a chance to see a GT4 in the flesh for the first time. GT4s look better in real life than in the pictures I've seen of them, if that's possible - small, low, and wide. It really is a car that has no bad viewing angles and great presence

Anyhow, if anyone on the forum is picking up their GT Silver GT4 from PCB in the coming days, here's a photo of it. Kudos on going for the LWBS and Clubsport pack! Looks awesome

Had a good look at a Macan Turbo too. Looks like that'll be the next car I get when I replace my MB A45 AMG! They offered me a test drive, but I thought test driving one and then having to wait 12-18 months to get one would be torture.

VIC- Yellow- AUD239,998 + orc

Well after 2 weeks, the SA GT4 at $229K has been removed from Carsales. QLD GT4 has gone up in price and NSW has dropped both settling around $240k. Might still be a bit challenging with a new GT4 just delivered off the transporter now listed at $235k in NSW depending on buyer preference for options:

NSW- White with GT2 seats, SC- AUD235,000 + orc <<< "new off transporter"
VIC- Yellow- AUD239,888 + orc
QLD- White with 918 seats, full leather red stitch, roll cage- AUD239,990 + orc
NSW- White with 918 seats, full leather grey stitch, SC- AUD240,000 + orc

Good luck all with sales- looks like 150 Aussie GT4 now delivered or on the water with the latest GT4 loaded on 5/7. Can't wait to see more on the street.

I have a source that did a bit of digging and mentioned the total number all up delivered to Australia and New Zealand would stand at 283 cars. Not sure what the split is between the two regions but that does include cars delivered in 2015, 2016 to date, cars on the water and the remaining cars queued or currently in production.

Having also seen the advert for the NSW car that was delivered on a transporter - I assume the advert is legitimate but the photos are not as they're widely available on Google image search and the interior was of a GT3 (last time I looked). Are you in the market for a cheap GT4 Dr1ven?

I would be surprised if the white NSW would be here yet as the seller signed for it and specced it very late April, early May.

Yep sounds similar to mine, locked mid April, built late May and started the the boat journey in June. I'm led to believe PCA frown on those turning the cars over so early (anything less than 12 months) and future chances to get a rare car might be challenging if it was a habitual practice... just not sure how they police this especially if you roll up with the dough - would they bat an eyelid?

Anyways, wouldn't be hard to get some more accurate photos of the car up even if sourced from the net... pretty sure I have almost every combination of interior / exterior downloaded... haha.

The QLD car is the best value for money with some great options. The VIC car is a stripper for the same price...

I'm glad to see around 150 cars will make it to Aus. Although not good for my resale, I'm happy more Aussies will get a chance to own a GT4.

I organised my XPEL Ultimate film install today. Looking forward to getting my baby by the end of the month

I would recommend that you also apply Clearplex to your windscreen if you are doing track or lots of highway kms.

^^ Wish I'd done this. My windscreen is toast - even has a 5cm crack in it now as well as a bunch of other small pits.

Replace the screen and get it done straight away. Don't buy the film locally as I did once, it turn out to be a disastrous waste of money. Order it from Gus at pawparts@Gmail.com. and it comes pre-cut with everything needed to install it. Your paint protection guy should be able to fit it.

I do a lot of highway kms, and it has saved me many a time.

Roger that, I'll definitely look into it. I've copped a couple of bad cracks and stone chips on two wind screens in the last 18 months...

Get on to it soon as you get the best install on a brand new screen. Gus had issues getting Clearplex to ship directly to me last time causing some weeks delay.

I daily my car, so they only last 12 to 18 months max. But we'll worth the investment.

This Sunday the 17th is looking like a cracker of a day.
I'll be arranging a drive through some really nice twisty roads and breaky, already have a few cars coming.
Only have room for 2 or 3 more cars, first in best dressed.

Meet at 7am in the Eastern suburbs and return around 11 ~ 11.30am , I'll pm address on request.
