I'm alive. Sorry, never believed I would be so busy with my newborn.
I do have an update. I drove 160 miles round trip today to Petit Le Mans on saturated streets with continuous rain and the Cup2s did not kill me. I really did not notice any issues aside from a slight tug when I went through some standing water. I was able to get in and out of the muddy gravel Porscheplatz corral without issue. To my knowledge I was the only GT4 there unless I missed someone.
On an unrelated note I picked up a high mileage E46 M3 6MT this weekend as a daily driver. I'm going to sell the blue F80. No point in doing 27k miles per year on it.

I've been daily driving my new (to me) E46 M3 for the last week. Frankly, I am way, way more excited to hop in it on the street than my GT4. The gearing is perfect and the mid-range is surprisingly decent. I really think the GT4 deserves gearing like this. I don't really care about lap times, I care about driving enjoyment. I'm holding out hope that there will be a good solution to bring down all the ratios a bit.

The C63 by comparison is just dull and so remote I actually am nervous to put the foot down because I cant feel whats going on at the tyres.

Its interesting, I have the exact opposite feeling about my C63 vs the GT4. The GT4 is a riot on the street - I love it. Blatting out the exhaust as you overtake or run through a tunnel, taking a racing line through corners when the coast is clear. I can't wait to go to work each day as it gives me a chance to drive the car.

Judging from your list of previous cars I don't see you falling in love with any car lol, just normal car A.D.D. I'd flip the car while the mileage is low and start scratching that 911 itch you mentioned you had earlier.

LOL... Love it... car A.D.D., have not heard that before, I sure have it as well.

The E46 M3 was a great car no doubt (I drove my brother's many times). I guess the gearing is definitely an issue for you because the GT4 outclasses the E46 in every other conceivable way performance wise. But as mentioned, you have owned many cars and only you know what you like.
You did mention liking the 911. Have you driven a 991 GTS? And since you are OK with turbos (having an F80 M3), maybe the new 2nd gen 991 Carrera S as a consideration? Going to have a meatier low end that's for sure.
Reminds me, the new M2 is being announced today. I am excited to see that actually. Very similar in size to the E46 I think.
Edit: Although from the early leaks it looks like the M2 is missing some M aesthetics: mirrors, hood, CF roof (that I knew), etc. Guess BMW were afraid of it getting too close to the F82.

I've sold cars that I've really enjoyed just because it was time to get into something else. Once you've had as many cars as I've had you want to keep that momentum up. I'd like to one day say that I've bought, sold, owned, maintained, driven, modded, tracked, etc... 100+ vehicles. Maybe I'd have a future career in automotive journalism with this foundation lol.
Accel, I assume you have broken it in, so are taking it past the 5-6K rpm mark?

The E46 M3 is like my E36 M3 and my E39 M5 and my NSXs. They stand out as cars that seem to do everything right on a daily basis. I really feel like the GT4 is just barely missing this mark and I think it is due to the extremely long gearing. I know it saves time to shift less on the track but I don't care about lap times I care about having a great time and feeling like I'm working it like a pro
I'm still going to hang on to the GT4. Hopefully I can get it tweaked to my tastes in the near future.
Not feeling the M2...I think for $10k more the F8X is way more car.
Yeah, I think this is just a generic Cayman & Porsche welcome kit. Still better treatment than I have received than any other brand (though BMW does a decent job with new M cars).

I'm guessing some tweak will come soon for the GT4 gearing. That would make it a different animal for the streets for sure.

With the news of all the additional allocations I am starting to wonder if I can engineer the trade of mine in for what I paid (arguing that the dealer can flip it...) and get a new allocation with buckets at MSRP. I guess I need to sit in the buckets but that would be one of my major gripes resolved if the buckets can accommodate my shoulders/back better than the sport seats (they are too narrow...I sit ON the seat back not in it).
Of course I would have to eat the cost of the wrap and wrap the new one as well...

I thought buckets were tighter and more enveloping than sofas? .. Definitely felt that way when I tried them in a gt4 at zentrum during pebble.

The buckets are surprisingly wide around the shoulder area so if your have wide shoulders they would be perfect.
A friend of mine with a 987.1 Cayman with 18-way seats gave me a ride to the clear bra shop to pick my car up. I immediately felt more comfortable getting into my bucket seats.
The 18-ways were scrunching my shoulders a bit. Now granted I'm not sure if the 18-way seat design has changed with the current generation of cars.
