Folks,
I wanted to update you on where I am on our R&D car's progress and what is on tap for January & February.
My Cargraphic "race manifolds" will arrive next week from Germany. My intentions were to dyno ONLY the race headers to see what sort of power I could make on the car WITHOUT anything else, drive the car for 500 miles to see what sort of CEL comes up and then put a tune on the car here on our dyno across town. At this point I am able to offer a tune from either supplier, both Cobb and my guys in Germany. Furthermore, we can do custom mapping for anyone that wants to make the trip to our shop next month.
Given that i keep getting sidetracked by work projects and as much as I want to do this all sequentially, I am going to throw the kitchen sink at this car with an attempt to exceed 475 crank hp. The mod list will be as follows and I will list it in stages but I am seriously going to try and possibly do this entire thing at once:
STAGE I
- K&N high flow 981 air filters
- PCNA 991 82mm throttle body
- IPD 991 Competition Plenum
- Cargraphic GT4 race manifolds
- Aasco 12 lb. single mass aluminum flywheel
STAGE II
- 991 GTS / X51 Power Kit
- 3.99L Stroker Conversion
It's my intention to try and get all of this on the car so i can get on track with it at the PCA 48 Hours of Sebring but i have literally less than 3 weeks. I know a fair amount of you guys are coming to that event and if you aren't, the car will live here at the shop so that anyone who happens to coincidentally have a business trip to Florida
can stop by and test out the final product.

We'll be in your hood Thurs Jan 28 in the afternoon. Is that a good time to stop by? I'd like to see the cage installation on your car.

I stand corrected! Hopefully BGB can put that to rest, ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Rick Deman has 4.0 kit going, but I was mistaken to think that he had also run with the Powerkit and Plenum..![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

The kit offering is the same from either shop so...
While I hope to achieve in excess of 475 I do not want to increase RPM levels. I have always been concerned about harmonics at high RPMS and given the reduced rev limit of the factory GT3 Cup motors when revised to 3.99L, i see no reason to try and spin the car higher than stock. I actually want to come down maybe 200 more RPM until i get on the race track with the car and start exploring higher levels. The dyno results show that there is not much power to be gained above 7K BUT that config lacks the ported heads and factory Power Kit manifold which are worth their weight in gold when trying to achieve HP over 7K RPM. They are just what the doctor ordered to help cure the elusive "porsche dip" that every single flat 6 motor makes at 7K. At the end of the day all i care about is trying to deliver reliability and something that behaves like a car that came off the assembly line. I don't want to speak for anyone but i guarantee that none of you want some temperamental race motor type thing in your fresh street car. I want it to be just like our daily driven 3.8L 981 and 987 swaps.
