its not a spyder. wrong hoops, wrong spoiler, no humps on hood.

 

Ah, good catch on the spoiler. I was focused on the trunk. Odd that porsche labeled it that way.

Do they do PTS with this thing?

 

You missed the PTS order window. Only 22 were approved from the USA.

 

Do you think that PTS will be available again if you had to guess NavanodD?

 

Based on Porsche's history with PTS and what Melissa at Porsche Exclusive has emailed me, No.

I have ordered a car that the local dealer has specced and was built end of Oct, eta here in Aus is late Jan so relatively not long to go.

My spec is:
Rhodium
Spyder classic interior
Sports bucket seats (cf backed, standard on all Aus delivered cars)
Heated seats
Platinum finished wheels
Long range tank
Smokers package
Bose audio
Rev camera

A bit excited, gonna be a big step up from our last P car, 981 Boxster (non S)

Alpine, keep in mind your classic Spyder interior will have GT Silver dash,console and door trim. It will not match your Rhodium silver exterior (which is lighter and more blue). If it doesn't bother you... Ignore my comment

 

Yep, understand, what do you do? GT Silver is a AU$5500 option here, that's like US$4500. Besides the car was built the day before I took the order so I'll deal with it. Besides if it really gets to me I can get the GT silver vinyl wrapped in black or a classic red maybe, even a closer match to rhodium.

A good friend also ordered a car a few week back, in GT silver, his is a 16 build with a much higher leather content than mine. Will be interesting to see his next to mine, given we live 450miles apart it's not likely gonna happen.

Australia will likely only get circa 25 spyders, rare indeed, my dealer is the only dealer in my state, we have their only allocation, so it's likely that we will never see another 981 Spyder.

 

Took part in a Paid Porsche Focus group today and met a couple of other Porsche customers. It was interesting to see a car company so interested in the opinions of their buyers. The focus was on SUVs but we got to relay any messages we wanted to Porsche.

 

Funny, I was in one two days ago here in SF ... I suggested they build the concept car panamera gt from 1-2 years ago.
