Hi, My car is arriving late octorber and was just starting to shop around some cosmetic parts and came around this GT4 front lips from suncoast. Does anybody know if this lips from cayman GT4 fits spyder? by looking at it, they share the same bumper but no clue. also, do you think we need to buy side pieces too?
The GT4 and Spyder bumpers are shared, so it should should fit.
For most people I would advise strongly against the swap. The GT4 splitter is counter-balanced by the rear wing to give balanced downforce at speed. If you do the splitter alone without the rear wing you'll get an imbalance. As speed the front will stick while the rear will slip, leading to high speed oversteer.
If you don't drive the car over 100 mph you might not notice. Over 130 mph the car will be downright scary- I speak from experience. The nose gets darty and the car tries to swap ends like an arrow with the feathers in front. If it's purely for posing you can consider it, but it will hurt performance overall, and in the wrong situation will be dangerous. Besides which, I touched my front spoiler lip down a half dozen times on back roads Sunday. Not sure why you'd want that?
In general doing the front lip alone is a bad idea.
