22,000 km including some track events, no problems at all, zero oil consumption, I truly love this car. It‘ll be a keeper.

15,000 miles
probably 30+ track days
zero issues (still have original transmission)

Have had several Porsches (Caymans, 911s, Panameras) and so far they are bulletproof.

We do maintenance religiously and usually ahead of schedule. Especially on any car going to the track.

17,000 miles. 50 track days. Suspension mods, headers, etc. 0 issues. I'd say the car is extremely reliable.

Hopefully the OP got what he needed from the tread since he never replied to anyone. But good to hear other GT4 owners are enjoying mostly trouble free miles. Aside from a nail in my driver's side rear tire, and the gearbox replacement (and cooling line they crimped in the replacement of my gearbox which had to be replaced as well) I haven't had issues to speak of.

I think there is someone on this forum who owns a GT4 with more than 100,000 miles on it. That's the person you need to engage with!

Yes, Randy has 100k miles. I just turned 43k and it's been rock solid.

Some uncommon issues cropping up with 981 GT4 engines. I always thought the 9A1 3.8L was bulletproof like the 3.4L mill.

The 9A1 3.8L is very reliable. It’s been out for over 10 years, if there was a common issue we’d have known about it by now.

Not sure why you bothered to bump a two year old thread to link a couple of one off posts (two of which are the same guy).

These threads say those tides may be changing...and I posted it because this is the main thread for "Reliability".

The 9A1 3.8L in the GT4 is 10 years old??? Didn't know we're in 2025 already!
