Gt4 warranty almost up
Hello all,
‘The warranty on my 2016 gt4 is up this August and I was wondering if there are any major issues I should be on the lookout for prior. The trans recall is done and the car has been bulletproof. Anything else I should take a look into?
thanks!

FWIW, I bought mine CPO last July, w/30k miles. Prior to the dealer handing over the car, they found a vacuum leak in the "right side" muffler, and replaced it. I was emailed the shipping/part receipt information for some reason, when the part was sent from somewhere directly to the dealer, and apparently just that one side of the muffler cost $4k.
Since, I've had a "Cooling System Fault", which turned out to be a bad "check valve".
Few months in, I had a "Parking Brake Fault", where brake positions had to be adjusted via laptop (PCCB)...head mechanic took 3-4 hours. Fault cleared, and parking brake works, but I've been hearing what sounds like brake squeaks when pulling in and out of parking spaces when turning after fix. Seems to have gone away as of last week?
"Busted washer fluid line", right at the bend of the hood. Looks like someone tried to patch previously (I'm 2nd owner).
Had the car in for what I thought was an engine knock, within the first few weeks of ownership, which happens after resuming throttle between 2k-3k RPM for a split second, as soon as I crack open the throttle (literally between 1mm-3mm throttle position from "closed"). Faster throttle position changes don't seem to trigger noise/knock/rattle. It was hard to replicate but car had been in 3x, at two different dealers within first 6 months. "No problem found", even though tech heard noise during ride along. One tech gave me BG 44K, and no change...still heard it off and on the past year. Car seemed sluggish at times under WOT, but again it was also inconsistent. I changed air filters after a few months , and each had tablespoons full of loose dirt spill out at removal. Car started running much better, but knock still present. For F's sake, I bought (2) more bottles of BG 44K recently, added one bottle to the tank, and just finished running out the tank last week...haven't heard knock after 2nd - 3rd drive? Fingers crossed.
"PDLS Fault" message has popped up 3-4x since having the car, but goes away after that drive. Lights still seem to swivel. Had it checked one of the times the car was in for something else, "No problem found".
I had the 4 year service performed at dealer a few months go, and just started hearing a "tapping noise" (posted in the GT4 "Tapping noise thread") a few weeks ago. Sounds like someone tapping Morse code on a telegraph really fast, but only after engine at operating temps. Most audible between 1k and 2k RPM and varies with engine speed. Car goes in tomorrow.
Thankfully, all was covered under warranty.

As far as what the original owner was doing, supposedly he lived in a rural part of the state and drove (often) to his construction business's sites. But what concerned me the most was that not only were the filters not checked for CPO certification, but on (3) different trips to (2) different dealers for engine performance/hesitation issues...started a thread about it here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...-it-s-cpo.html
I know I've put a lot of miles on since purchase, 8k, but a lot of that was DSC settings "R&D". :-) All I know is that I'm just really glad I had CPO coverage for all this. Makes me hesitate about doing any (more) performance mods and voiding it all. Is it wrong that I hope they find something major wrong with the engine so I can get a new one?

WOW... I've had mine since 2016. And it has seen 15k kms which are mostly track... so far i've only had the cluck sound which I ended up fixing myself and the chirping rear struts. What bad luck above...

Details on the clunk sound? I've been trying to find a clunk coming from the front at low speeds/uneven pavement. Checked all nuts and bolts multiple times. Driving me nuts!

This clunk was the interior rear clunk... The one you may be referring is maybe the front ARB sound... does it sound like a clunk then spring board? like someone jumping off a old diving board?

I like my local dealer and seem to have better luck than many. I do however prefer a good Indy that you actually get to know. I like to do as much as I can diy as I might be slow but I don’t cut any corners!

It's a so pop/rattle. I guess it does a bit like the board hitting the support.

I ended up getting the 10yr/75k platinum plan yesterday (last day of original 4yr). Apparently the 3 month extension that Porsche gave all owners doesn’t apply to the factory warranty extension. You have to add their plans within the confines of the original coverage period. Price was just under 6k at Chandler.
