GT4 isn’t about brute speed. It’s about finesse and connection to the car. At least with the 2016 model. There are plenty of small cars that can be modified for extreme power if you want to go that route.

at 2:57 mark in the video, there are some pretty distinct sounds coming from that car if you’re able to listen with good headphones.

The most predominant sound at that time of the video is the sound (high pitch noise) of the car braking...are you hearing something different?

You guys do realize this video shows the GT4 CS being tested, not the road-going version, right?

The CS and the road-going version would most likely be linked but...

Yes...but chances are that the road going will have the same engine, at least very similar.

There is some interesting noises I can’t place as he transitioned from braking to throttle. It’s one of the few parts of the video where the exhaust is pointed the other way and isn’t the prominent noise.

That's high pitch noise you hear is from the PFC brakes. GT4 has the brakes from the Cup car and they all sounded like that in heavy braking.

Always happens... I remember taking my MY06 STi to a trackday in 05 and turning heads time wise... Cars that were triple the cost had a hard time keeping up.. One even had his brakes catch fire...

Damn this video is being analyzed more than the Zapruder film!

Don't know how much of that is the new SC2R tires, which wouldn't have any effect on the race car, how much is aero, and how much is suspension. But it's a remarkable improvement, especially for just a ".2" revision of a Porsche GT car.
Ring times are all fine and dandy... but realistically, track conditions and temperatures play a factor.
The 991.1 and 991.2 are very much alike. Would like to see both cars on the same track, same day, same tires and same driver.

I think we're in danger of listening for details in a manner not unlike finding shapes in clouds. That said, at 2:55 I guess you could say there seems to be a diverter valve sound as he lets off the throttle, but it's not really audible in other places and it would be strange to not hear the turbos spool with a very open exhaust like it would need to have to sound like this if it were turbocharged.

It boggles me too that a Bentley can hammer around VIR like that.

The Muhlner Motorsports Porsche GT4 qualified 3rd fastest lap time for the grid. So it still has skin in the game. But the mustangs indeed have the power and the audis have the pace.

Correct. The road car and race car will have same engine and HP.

sorry for confusion.
the EVO package is a 2018 weight savings package. Still 375hp.

the 2019 GT4 is anticipated to be 420hp.
