B4T
B6T
B6N/A
were tested - in real - within the GT4.
(i was told)
i guess it will arrive with a B4T or B6T - but not with the/a B6N/A. As long street car and race car should share the same engine setup.
B4T. why choosing a B6T as long a B4T will be lighter, cheaper and can have enough sauce.
Who thinks the last videos of the GT4 are with the MDG engine of the .2GT3(RS) ... better listen to a video of .2GT3/RS/Cup/RSR again...

any form of turbos tested in the 718 body were test mules for collecting data for future generations.

there was a guy in a GER porsche forum who analysed the ignitions with a professional audio software+knowledge.
he said he still had to guess a bit. but based on the counted ignitions it nearly can be only a B4T.
calculated 3.375rpm (if 6 cyl) would be to less - even for a B6T - during those sections where he analysed it...
16V guys. 16V !

Caught back up to the "gasoline" thread late, but I have one more thing to add.
In California, we were at 92 octane until late 2001 when it "quietly" dropped to 91.
Here's why....

Even if people all agree with 100% certainty that any of the videoed cars are NA or 4 turbos or 12cyl turbos for that matter, all that means is that that car in the video is what it is.
Its not impossible that there is more than one config being considered, or even that there are two models being tested - a next gen GT4 and a GT4RS. Very possible that those two cars would look exactly the same externally, for now, but have diff power plants.
The speculation is fun nonetheless!

This is what I'm thinking. B6 N/A GT4(Announcement in Fall 2018). B6T GT4 RS(Porsche is testing, but still hasn't decided to produce yet). All speculation though

In the GT3 range, the RS version has typically only added a little more power (0-25hp), not including special limited editions like the 997 RS 4.0 (65 hp more)

Totally Agree with Grant.......plus, we have been down this GT4 RS road before....face it, very slim chances of an RS happening for so many reasons.

I'm already looking for a part number for that distributor but it doesn't seem to be up yet.

Interesting theory, but if the GT4 will have around 420hp and the 4.0L can make 520 hp in its current form it doesn't seem necessary to go Turbo...

suggest strict EU emissions for 2019. Just a theory as to why Porsche might be testing the B6T. The new emission rule might be causing Porsche to play with different
scenarios.
