But nothing trumps youtube or similar posted videos including sound files over calibrated ears posted on forums played by highly accurate computer sound cards connected to speakers or over (exceptional) headphones.

With all different devices used to film the GT4 or Spyder on the road, we can only rely on people with connection and understanding of the hierarchy of Porsche cars.
Ultimately, Porsche could make all the confusion go away by releasing it.

The 2018 EVO package is basically a $20k upgrade to an existing GT4CS MR.
It was introduced by Porsche Motorsports to keep the GT4 competitive for one more season of 2018...
It gives you carbon front and rear bumpers, cabon fenders, light weight LED headlights and lightweight battery.
Super light, but super expensive to replace.
It is on all the PWC and IMSA Porsche GT4 clubsports....

Dedicated computer sound cards? ... Does anyone even make those anymore? And if so, who the hell is buying them?

I already told these guys the new car is NA, 4.0L, 420-450HP a while ago, the only thing is I said it was gonna to be the 4.0L engine from the GT3, cause when I was told it is gonna be 4.0L F6 I automatically assumed it is the GT3/GT3RS engine. These guy raise the possibility that it could be the old 3.8L expanded to 4.0L. Which I never though of in the first place.
I will find out in 15 days.
But during that 15 days, I think the post count in this thread will increased by 500 posts by the turbo guys
I mean, I have my limits as to how much I can say in public, gentleman's agreement if you will. I don't rely on them to race a car, but I do race for them this year, which sort of put me in a unique spot where I am a regular customer, a VIP customer, AND a race customer that don't need their money. I could as well jump ship to another manufacturer. That last 2 parts sort of limits them to what they can and cannot allow me to say. They still want my money after all and I still want their cars.

this is the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npZbMmSaMEM
There is a slight high pitch sound but it is not a turbo hiss...
It is the car at wide open throttle surrounded by track walls.

It's ok, I do question myself sometimes.

I'm not familiar enough with Porsche so I could be 100% wrong. Isn't the current 4.0 based on the old 3.8? Block the same but then everything else added makes it what it is (dry sump, fancy internals, etc.)?
