My kids pronounced it PorshAAA when they were two...if I any of their friends mis-pronounce it --- I correct them.
Pronouncing it Porch makes it sound like you're from Saint Louis or something

Sorta like President Johnson always saying Vitmanese instead of Vietnamese. I understand his speech writers used to cringe when he went on camera. I would agree with those who say that it's not a question of being an elitist or a snob....there's a correct way of saying it as named by the main man himself when he designed and built them.....so why fight it?

i pronounce it wrong on purpose to upset my friend, who coincidently couldn't give a rats *** about a Porsche. I just think its funny to see him get mad and correct me all the time.

I mean, is Jaguar pronounced jagwar or Jag-you-ar? It all depends on where you're from! Get it?

Because it is the way I always have and most people around me have. It's just what sounds right to me. Kind of like people in Great Britain say alu-minium and Americans say alumi-num

Wow, never knew I'd evoke such passion in the pronunciation of a name. Right on!

I guess I prefer to say words the way they are supposed to be pronounced in their native tongue.
That said, if someone tells me, "Nice Porsch," I don't make it a point to correct them.
No worries arrog-nut

Hey man, with a name like Zoltan, my name's been more mis-pronounced than Britney's been photographed!
