White Cars, Why
#16
Heck---I like both the red and the white on these two cars. I'm starting to think there is no bad color for a Porsche.

Not really sure how this happened, but all 3 of my cars right now are white.
They tend to bring more money in general (I ran an dealership for a while), especially when the buyers were in the middle east. The metallic/pearl white German or British cars commanded a premium due to it being a "classy/luxury" color. I do disagree with some saying it's a good color for showing off the body lines. I feel like the grays do a much better job of that. Tire shine spewing all over the side of a white car is annoying too. However, nothing hides those terrible spider web clear coat swirls better than white though.
(Subaru Ascent for kids & snow, Acura for a daily/mileage/reliability, and the 991 for much needed stress therapy. All white.)

Also, for those who might not be aware, white was the official color for all German race cars competing in international events before it became silver in the 1930's.

White cars look so good clean. Owners of white or black cars should be forced to sign papers saying they will keep their cars as clean as possible.

I never cared for white on cars, but now since two of our cars are white, I dig it.
I usually have only had silver or blue cars. Currently have a miami blue car and I like it--but a lot 'louder' than I typically choose.

I do not like white. My past 3 sports cars were all blue. My Audi S5 daily driver is tango red and my TRD Pro adventure Tacoma is voodoo blue. Even my wife's BMW X7 is blue. I despise white (and black), and barely like gray. Yet, here I am with a white 911.
So why do I have it? Last year, I attempted to order a Porsche 718 GTS 4.0 in blue. Every dealership told me ordering was a 2 to 3 year wait. Pre-owned were outrageously priced. I discovered that Carrera GTS models were more reasonably priced than 718 GTS, so I sought out a CPO'd with Burmester audio and GTS package. In all of the USA, I found only 1, and sadly, it was white. I really, really like this car, just not the exterior color. Maybe in 4 or 5 years, I'll trade it in for a color that doesn't disappoint me. At least the black glass sunroof and black Porsche stripes disrupt the white.

Have the car wrapped in a different color.

White doesn't look dirty when dirty? I really beg to differ in fact I think white looks down right terrible when it gets dirty.

White cars get darker and dark cars get lighter. They all look dirty in their own way.
I can live with some road dust on the white car, but the same build up on the gloss dark bits (especially the wheels) is almost instant and looks terrible in comparison. To each their own.
Side note: White is terrible for rock chips though if your plastics are dark under the paint. Our white Macan Turbo was a black rockchip magnet from the wife's highway driving.
