I vote further west, at least for the drive. 17 West out towards Monticello, Hawk's Nest, NY-97. Much less busy area. Plenty of places to stop at in Port Jervis for food and fuel as well. Warwick, NY is scenic too.

We can definitely do that. I posted a tentative route from a conversation and invitation we have received from a friend who lives in Warwick. I'll post it again here. Just keep in mind that we have one from Boston ( @toph4242 ) and at least one from CT coming, so going west adds to their trip. I would defer to toph4242 because he's got the most planning and driving to do.

Here's the conversation again with a car guy friend of mine who lives in the area, and this would be more west, not Bear Mountain:

"Are you planning a meet and greet or do you actually want to do a good drive in September? The problem is Sunday traffic, even in September after school starts the weekend traffic is bad everywhere.
7 Lakes drive from Sloatsburg up to Bear Mountain is my favorite but on a Sunday afternoon it would be torture with the traffic.

if you want to get some good driving in my best suggestion would be meet in Middletown NY and take the backroads to Pine Island NY, then thru Warwick and 17A over the mountains, through Greenwood Lake NY and onto Sloatsburg where you could pick up 7 Lakes drive up to Bear Mountain or Skyline Drive through the Ringwood NJ area and up thru West Milford NJ.

I could recommend several really cool venues in the Pine Island and Warwick area for lunch and beverages if you want. I'd also be happy to host a photoshoot with adult beverages at my house for you guys....I have alot of rural property, plenty of parking, and would be happy to provide refreshments and a bathroom for everyone. (in Warwick, it's off 17A) 5 miles of great twisty's. We get a least a few car and motorcycle clubs screaming down the road every weekend."

Thank you for considering my distance @AdamIsAdam ... I am not super familiar with the area, so i've been doing some basic google mapping... If I have a 3ish hour drive to get to bear mtn, it appears from some quick searches that Warwick, NY adds another 30min to my drive home... that is perfectly fine with me. I just don't think having a 4+ hour ride home is something I'd love to do (especially if we get a Sunday rain date and I have a big meeting on the 11th)... Pine Island and Ringwood appear to be about 3hr30min from Boston area as well.

@AdamIsAdam your friend is very generous. Grateful for that! Maybe he wants to lead us around the area since he's very familiar with it. I know Greenwood Lake, Hawks Nest and Sussex and Sullivan Counties well, but not the area between Bear and Warwick.

The issue will be, are the roads going to be open and in good condition in 2 months. They sustained major damage on Sunday.

The other issue is the fellas coming from the far east (not China, but MA and CT LOL).

We can always Pivot this to a Cape Cod/Coastal southern New England Meet and have a T-Party at my house on the cape. Shockingly no real damage from Rain around here so far this season, and plenty of parking at my place!

I'm guessing that won't work for most, myself included. Nice try though Maybe next year. Beautiful area!

9/9 NE T Meet participants - ATTENTION Please!

As mentioned in past, I plan on ordering custom T-shirts for all attendees as a gift for your efforts to attend this 992 T-mates event. I know some are coming from as far as Ohio! Haven’t done this before so just gonna do my best. Please don’t hate me later if it doesn’t turn out perfect. I’ll ask for sizes later, but for now I’d like a headcount of those arriving with a 992 T attending for sure 100%. Please simply respond yes to this post or PM me if so. I’m still 50/50 due to work, but if I absolutely can’t attend, @CengueFever is my neighbor and I’ll have him deliver on 9/9. Thanks to @tourenwagen for the awesome graphics to be printed on the shirts!

Posting this to main 992 T club thread also. Just need to let me know on 1’thread or PM me.

We're going to have to leave the event in waves... 15 T's all initiating the cold start sequence at the same time is likely to trigger more road collapses
