overhauling the pc this week so i should be good to go for next week, that's if i can get the wheel and pedal set. no stores in town have anything in stock so it looks like i'll be ordering online.
I tried a G27 and decided to pre-order a Fanatec CSR wheel/shifters with CSR elite pedals after having used an older Logitech wheel/pedals for awhile on other games. They now call this the Forza Motorsport CSR wheel value pack XL. So a somewhat limited experience of different ones. However I can say I'm happy with the setup thought it wasn't cheap:
If you don't care about the Xbox compatibility, which I did at the time, you can get one of the Porsche looking wheels for possibly less money. I've found this is almost like asking people what motor oil they prefer, lots of different answers and its hard to argue anyone is wrong.
I love my G27. Got a great deal on it a few years ago and continue to really be impressed by it. Though Ed tells me there are more to the world of pedals.
I won't be there this week as I'm working. Good luck and have a great time.
Sorry I missed you guys. Took the woman out as it is our anniversary (of sorts). We met in NYC 5 years ago, and that was that. I *should* be able to make it next week. I am also strongly considering either rebuilding the sim in Tokyo or shipping my existing stuff because she isn't coming with me for the entire time. Will give me something to do.
Do you guys ever run any practice sessions during the week?
I just got all setup....but I see that testing sessions aren't very populated, and no one is running the CTSV at Limerock. I ran with come guys in the Mazda to get used to the track, but I'd like to bump up to the faster CTSV. Its hard to get comparable lap times when you're the only one on track
Also, do you guys run a fixed setup on the Wed night races?

go to the "world record" section under stats and you can find out how fast a particular car/track combination is.
as for our races, we sometimes do fixed and sometimes open, if it's open there's usually at least one shared set. so you won't be totally out to lunch.
I completely sucked with the Mustang; it's one of the few cars that I haven't adapted to with the NTM. Next time we run it, I'll try to get a lot more practice in before the live session...
Bedros and Justin had a helluva race! Very entertaining to spectate.

You can run "Test" sessions with any car/track combo you have; it's just you and your car, so no SR hits or traffic to contend with as you're learning the track.
