My next attempt at fixing the computer on the cheap is a bios flash to the latest firmware. We'll try it again next week and see if it makes a difference.

Well... firmware, and software, doesn't suddenly "go bad".

I think you've got a hardware fault somewhere, TBH.

Justin have you tested your PSU?

Download a GPU stress tester to troubleshoot instead of waiting for the race to find out if it fails.

This is the last one I used: http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/

I swapped in a new PSU already with no effect. I'll try another GPU tester, but the last one I used didn't generate the problem. It only seems to happen in iracing with triple screens going. It also only seems to happen when I'm about to beat Jim's lap then my screens go black... so maybe Jim has something to confess.

I've got my first real world race of the season next week, so my time in the sim is more limited. It would be easier to diagnose if it wasn't so intermittent.

Are we calling it quits for the summer or we going to put some more events on there for Wednesday nights?

Well... I'd love for it to continue. But numbers have been dwindling. Nobody showed up last week, at all, aside from me. I bailed after the race started and I confirmed no one else was joining last minute.

I'm *not* setting something up for *this* week. The iRacing 24H of LeMans is next weekend and I need to practice and work on car setup. Any spare brownie points I have saved up with the wife are going towards LeMans practice for the next week. The Honda handles pretty differently from the GT3 and I don't want to screw up my habits.

Perfectly happy to set something up for next week so long as we think we'll get a committed group. With my real racecar being MIA with no ETA, iRacing is where I get my fix in, so I'd love to keep this going.

I know you're not on FB much, and might've missed our mega thread - you down for the 24? I kinda assumed your PC was out of commission but if not, lemme know.

I looked and saw no one was in at about 7:40. So with that I joined the 7:45 race in the IMSA series. I was pretty addicted to those races last week. Being 75 minutes long at Road America in the Porsche was a lot of fun. See a lot of people not being consistent over the long run gave me a chance to beat people that maybe I wouldn't in the shorter races. Stinks that they're giving the Porsche the boot in the IMSA series. I get it, but man I love racing that car and don't want to real join the cage matches in the Porsche Cup series. Plus those races you don't even need to do a pitstop which I think changes things a lot too.

I'm up for racing still. If the turn outs are low, then maybe we agree to some type of running where we can practice certain things. I don't know? Just a thought.

Geez you're not having any luck on both fronts. What happened?

I'd really like to, but I can't subject a whole team to my questionable computer. Once it's more consistently stable I'd like to do some more endurance events.

Was leading a race and the o-ring on the oil filter let go. Oil hit the headers and ignited. I got stopped and extinguished the fire. There seems to be no engine damage and the body seems ok (even the fiberglass hood), but the wiring is pretty crispy.

Finally captured a screen shot of my error. It says iracing.com simulator: iracingSim64DX11.exe - Application Error "The instruction at 0x0000000001408E25B4 referenced memory at 0x0000000000000000. The memory could not be written"

I found reference to this in the iracing forums and I'm trying some of their suggestions.

Nice! How did you capture it? What are they saying on it?

OK, I hate to say this in the P Car forums but holy cr*p has anyone tried the new Ferrari? That 488 is hands down the best platform on iRacing imho. Funny thing is when I drove the car in real life it felt that good too... Was running it at VIR last night, what a blast!
